If someone had this job in real life, they'd probably hate it. For some reason though, it's really fun to play. I'm really enjoying this game so far.
I want to see a version of the game where you play as an Arztotskan brothel bouncer. The "workers" wouldn't need as much ID and you'd have to stop underaged or criminal & police people from getting in. And you'd get a citation if you forgot to give them a brothel pamphlet. Imagine the giant stack of pamphlets on your desk, aw yeah.
Finally got around to playing this. Much more fun than I expected.
Don't know if anyone else did this but I took some screenshots of the rule book and put them in an image for easy access because the path to being a good inspector is paved with not having to flip pages: [All Passports in one screenshot] I've only played up to Day 4 so I don't know if any more information gets added to those particular pages but its a good starting foundation.

Someone already made a cheat sheet.
Well, isn't it just easier to write it all down and put it near your display? You know... like using some paper and a pen to write stuff down ? There aren't really that much "images" to remember in this game, the hardest thing to remember are just names of countries and issuing cities.
This game was surprisingly fun. I didn't really feel the whole Dystopian ~so gloomy~ thing that TotalBiscuit was talking about though. I guess I'll buy this if it's $5-$10.
I DL'ed the beta, and i'm loving it so far
I couldn't be bothered to check 17 pages for this but does anyone know what the deal with the Corman Drex person is? I'm assuming whatever his/her role is just isn't fully implemented into the game yet.
What was I supposed to do with the guy in the paper for killing his girlfriend? I couldn't find a way to detain him so I sent him away, and the game told me off because his papers were legit.

You can highlight them as discrepancies.
Yeah, Papers Please is one of those games where if you think even for a second you might be able to click it to highlight a discrepancy then you probably can.
What if those square slots in the family menu are for passports that belong to different family members? Imagine a part of the game where your mother-in-law has to travel to Kolechia to visit her sick sister and meets you in the checkpoint, hoping to get through with some smuggled goods.

Detain her, she's no longer a problem to your loyalist family now.

It just got greenlit
It just got greenlit
Glory to Arstotzka.

Dammit, I tried s and spoiler. [editline]1st May 2013[/editline] ty
[t] http://filesmelt.com/dl/BG26.png[/t] Almost done. Need to make the mic and paper A LOT bigger.
What are you making?? A wallpaper?
A desktop. I wanted to make a mac version with the dock but then ended up just making it universal anyways. [editline]1st May 2013[/editline] It would work pretty well though. If I just cut it apart a bit it'd make a fine icon pack + desktop.
Make a Rainmeter gadget with the clock and you're all set.
And change all the icons to stamps, visas and cards for The pink vice.
I'm loving this so far, it's amazing. I really like it when you get to detain people. Ohhohoho, ESPECIALLY when you get to detain people.

I finished the game like ten minutes ago, and god damn was it good. I wish it was longer, I would definitely pay for it if they added a whole lot more mechanics, and obviously make it much longer. Like, there should be a point where you have to react to them possibly pulling out the gun they have behind their back while they try to shoot you; you have to shut the blinders in time. Also, what was that black card I got from that one lady who said something along the lines of 'it's time'?
