When I say "Cause no trouble" is that the game telling me I fucked up? I keep kicking myself everytime I hear it and it drives me mad
When I say "Cause no trouble" is that the game telling me I fucked up? I keep kicking myself everytime I hear it and it drives me mad
It's just what's said to foreigners entering the country, same as "Glory to Artstotzka" is what's said to Arstotzkans.
Is there any particular way of detaining the murderer that comes by your checkpoint? I couldn't think of any real ways of finding discrepancies.
Highlight him and the news article about him in discrepancy mode.
Pardon me asking, but where in particular was the article? Was it part of that sheet given to you at the beginning of the day or is it a separate piece of paper that I'm missing.
Pardon me asking, but where in particular was the article? Alright, thanks to the both of you for clearing it up.
What's up with that Drex Corman guy?
Needs a Corbrastan mod. Put any random character in place of where he should be and replace everyone else with just his character.

I found this game through Greenlight, then saw the thread here. It's such a wonderful game, I never imagined I'd find this kind of thing entertaining but man, it's executed so well. There should be a spinoff where you inspect papers for people immigrating to Cobrastan.
I love how you can still use the intercom while someone's already in the booth and you spout canned airport phrases. "Arstotzka welcomes you! Please keep all your documents with you." Meanwhile an innocent is detained outside. "Entry is not guaranteed."
Was the demo updated? I don't have the option to search everyone in my version.
You need to get through enough of the game to unlock that. After the second terrorist attack I think...
Yeah but that's for a certain nationality only, it didn't say "search everyone".
Yeah but that's for a certain nationality only, it didn't say "search everyone".
I think it's further on then, and you can only search people if they are suspicious or above the weight listed on ther ID cards. Kinda like how fingerprinting works.
it's way too hard to not let anyone in your family die or maybe i'm just slow. either way they need to make it easier to gain income, or at least add a difficulty option.

I had to shut off food and heat once, though. my advice would be don't worry too much about citations, the first 2 or 3 that day don't charge you anything. [editline]20th April 2013[/editline] also if you still have a citation left you can accept a bribe or two
Has anyone gotten all of the buttons yet? Easiest way to build up cash is to alternate between food and heat. Don't worry, it will make them hardy like glorious Arztotzkan potato.

I already have assets of myself
I don't know where people are getting the idea that you can search everyone on one day from. I've finished this thing twice now and the closest you ever get is searching all Kolechians on Day 7.
Brilliant game. I think it would be interesting to see other situations that affect the immigration, such as war and famine, perhaps rebellion and citizens need to be checked or something. I'm really digging this game.
GLORY BE TO COBRASTAN, GREATEST COUNTRY IN WORLD Also It'd be interesting to see another game in this universe where you play as a corrupt general dealing with the fuckloads of dissent and rebels.
I remember playing his previous game The Republia Times a year ago, was actually surprised to find out that he made it when I saw it on the main site. I recommend you guys to check it out too. You're an editor for a newspaper company in an equally dystopian country (Republia which also appears in Papers, Please too), got a family to feed and protect, and has plenty of interesting twists to spice up the monotony. Has the same writing style and frantic distressing gameplay.
The articles mention Republia's navy and in the map for Papers they have no coastline They are doing a great job of fooling their citizens
