Rainbow Six Set to Invade New York With Home-Grown Terrorism [New Rainbow Six Title]

here we go with consoles
I, for one, really liked the cover system introduced in Vegas, but I think it suits a different game, not Rainbow Six.
Ubi screwed up Splinter Cell: Conviction and Ghost Recon: Future Soldier (from what I saw at E3 anyways) by streamlining them to extreme degrees.
Something tells me this will be no exception.
Also, anyone else dog-tired of New York?

Well, there's always the Q and E lean as well as the cover-mechanic Crysis 2 had, which worked pretty well in my opinion.
Hope the terrorists that scream "I THINK WE GOT COMPANY" all the time will be back. I <3 them.
oh and by the way, how is a NYC invasion (which this isn't even an actual invasion, it's a terrorist group) "common"
just because 1 video game did it doesn't make it common
Actually, NYC attacks are kind of common now. Crysis 2, Deus Ex, Freedom Fighters, Prototype, and I think even Modern Warfare 3 is going to have something in NYC. And that's not considering films like Cloverfield or such either.
TV Tropes even has a trope for this. http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/BigApplesauce
Fucking awesome.

more like this please.

They'd either have to remove the cover system completely or make the game completely third person.
Crysis 2?

It could work like Time Crisis.

Or this classic:
"The police are here. What are we going to do?"
"GROW A PAIR OF BALLS"
My copy of rainbox six Vegas 2 had a fucked up sound problem where I could only hear a few sounds, and my CD key never worked.
Thanks Ubisoft.

INVESTIGATE! BUT NOT ALONE!

Also, the very first screenshot they show and it has a giant "HOLD ( X ) VAULT" in the middle of the screen.
Yeah, this is promising already.
Cool, I wonder how this Rainbow Six will be.

oh no, you dont have to press 50 buttons to do a single action, game ruined

Is it on the Xbox, PS3, or PC? "X" is on all of them.

It could, you know, just not show it every time you go up against an object. Do you really need to be reminded 10000000 times during gameplay?

I'd prefer just pressing one button to perform a completely mundane task.

It doesn't bother me that much.
NYC gets boring fast, Chicago please. I really hope you can use stealth like in the older RW6 games.

No we need more games in San Francisco.
Killzone 2&3 did it fine from what I hear.
Killzone 2 was awesome, I haven't played 3.
Am I bad for never using the mission planner (and only one team) in Raven Shield? I played that game as a kid, but I never used it and neither did my dad.

Maybe you can't vault over any object, and this text shows when you can, since you know, this is tactical game and extra info is never bad.
Why do you need a cover system in first person, what happened to the old Q and E and crouching and standing? Is that too primitive?
Because it has fundamental flaws.
For starters theres no ability to move certain parts of your body behind cover, so your knees or arms may be exposed when you don't want them to be, then there's that horrid shit people do in MP where they lean around the corner so they only have a couple pixels of ironsight, and when they shoot you it looks like a gun jutting out of the wall did it.
It's an old system if if it can be done better then it should be done better.

I never used it too. Though in multiplayer we drew penises and happy faces.
Crysis 2 and Prototype are the only games that count as NYC, MW3 is some WW3 crap or something
If they make it tactical like Raven Shield, I will cum buckets.
I think they got away from that system because it can be overwhelming to players who have never done anything like that before. I played Rainbow Six 3 on the original Xbox back in the day and thought it was a tactical masterpiece. Then I got Raven Shield a week or so ago and my mind was blown. Non-linear maps, coordinating attacks, it was a full on wargasm.
But a lot of kids just want more weapon attachments and to shoot bad guys. I really hope this pulls through.

And that's how Vegas/Lockdown was born
