TW1 is a great game, it's just that there's a negative correlation between your enjoyment of the game (your giveafuckometer, so to speak) and the amount of pointless running about you have to do, which comes to a head in chapters 2 and 4. Unless you have iron willpower and balls of steel getting past these parts can get very difficult (because you literally just stop caring). [editline]19th May 2011[/editline] You wouldn't want the original edition anyway, it's ass.
Whats the difference?
it's incredibly hard to fuck up in these games, there's no attributes or anything, just logical skill trees where you put points into the things you use the most kind of like DA2 but without the attributes [editline]19th May 2011[/editline] if there was a command to turn off the hud, trust me son I would use it
Alright good. Because that's like the biggest reason I never played Deus Ex. I saw the skill screen and all the numbers scared me so I ran away and hid under my bed. [sp]I know Deus Ex isn't a hardcore RPG but it has skill points.[/sp]
Whats the difference?
Original is bug-ridden, the character animation is wooden, the voice acting and translation is shoddy, basically everything i inferior. Enhanced edition is basically the fully patched up version with redone animations and voice acting. You could patch the original, but there's no point when the EE is the only one on sale.

[editline]18th May 2011[/editline] God it's like someone took She-Hulk and Ghoul rule 34 and added some transvestites for good measure.
blame the devs, there were definitely some terrible design choices when it came to the women namely, every single one has a cleavage you could drown in, all the women important to the plot are redheads, and there's no opportunity passed up to get them semi-naked oh yeah, and the less said about the sex cards the better
I think this might be the first game with "more clothing for women" mods.

very nicely done although the wood is way too sharp/glossy
So is the witcher 2 like hack and slash...or is it more strategic like Dragon Age. I didn't like Dragon Age's gameplay at all, it was extremely slow paced. I enjoy rpg games that are more based around diablo style gameplay.

not going to get witcher 2 just to spite generic.monk
tbh its worth $50 if you're in to RPGs but otherwise the game feels fucking HUGE and there's just no way us casual players are going to play it long enough to ever beat it
http://filesmelt.com/dl/ScreenShot0254.jpg Makes a great wallpaper Img_Thumb is broke
I took a picture of what could be a neat wallpaper in Singularity.

Is it just walking up, right click, character swipes his weapon, click on spell in your taskbar, swipe weapon again that seemingly phases through enemy yet still hits him kind of gameplay? I just hate that WoW/Dragon Age style gameplay. I usually only enjoy RPG games when they are hack and slash or at least based more around action than strategy, like Diablo, Champions Of Norrath, Demon Souls ect.
What game is that? If epic moments like that are common... I need it. Call me stupid, it's probably something obvious... I just don't recognize it.

Uh... Yeah, thanks. Decided to read the filename... Herpderp :downs:
is it good?
IS IT GOOD?
dude it's fucking superb, it's basically god's apology to the hardcore PC RPG community after the travesty that was dragon age 2 you'll probably be lost in all the lore to start with if you don't play the first game, but I hear it's very friendly to new players, at least lore wise, you'll get raped in the combat I'd say play the first game first but I wouldn't wish chapters II and IV of that game on anyone, even though it picks up and just keeps getting better once you get past IV.
Not a big fan of fantasy lore, is it real big on fantasy, or does it have more medieval qualities? Only fantasy game I've ever liked was Oblivion, never played any previous games, and I picked up on the lore pretty quickly, so that was nice, witcher 2 at all like that?
it plays more like a hack and slash
Ok my interest has risen if it truly is the hack and slash gameplay I am thinking of. I will check out gameplay videos of it later when I am done with homework.

There's magic, dragons, monsters and what have you; but it's all written up as dark, gritty bad things. Not as dandy, colorful things that everyone happily prances about with.
