I have 140 games on my steam profile, about 3/4ths actually played fully and beaten, and that doesn't count for my childhood involving the first floppy disk games up to games like Dark Forces II.
I'm pretty sure I have a pretty valid opinion of what I think a good game consists of; though the quality of a game is perceived individually and is up for subjective opinion..

It's by no means a bad game, it's just that the series has fallen into the trap most recently demonstrated by hangover 2, which is 'if something you did was successful make more of it and don't change a goddamn thing it it might not sell as well'. The result is a game you've played several times before and it's fucking boring as hell. The worst part is companies trying to emulate the success of CoD by making identikit modern warfare shooters with no mind for the fact that half the reason CoD is popular is because of the fucking brand.
