I have a trial account right now and I didn't use a card.
I played with a trial account, got bored and left in the first days. Shit-all happened, and if it did I had to move on foot to whatever place and get shot by some sniper.

Well, what I consider to be the worse Settlers game also happens to be the least cartoony.

The Settlers, at least the older ones, always had a rather cartoony look on them if you ask me.
This is just a different kind of cartoony.
But that's just me. I really love the style of The Settlers 7, looks even better in motion. :keke:

Actually I went together with my squad. After a long time of swimming through a river, and then running a lot to get near the city. We started to hide behind bushes and trees. Slowly my squad mates started to get picked off one by one, and as I saw that I was one of the last I just charghed at the town, got killed either by the sniper or the artillery piece that was right in the middle of the main road inside the town.

1. Be smart. You deployed in the early stages. There are 3 stages to every battle:
Stage 1: Quiet....Too Quiet: Enemies hiding/very small number of troops. Easy to be picked off, the occasional tank or bombing run. Like the title says, things are quiet, yet extremely dangerous.
Stage 2: HOLY SHIT DEATH EVERYWHERE: Bombs going off, tanks everywhere, artillery in the hills, possibly hundreds of enemies. Most likely this is urban combat. Mostly groups of allies fighting off waves of enemies/groups of enemies in street-to-street combat. High amount of tanks and air. Not as much picking off, but machineguns and bombs are your worst nightmare. Action is everywhere.
Stage 3: Winding down: Either A. You and your friends are all dead and the enemy has won, or B. You and your friends killed all the enemy. No more concentrated machinegun fire or bombs everywhere. Highest threat are riflemen/snipers hiding in the bush. Occasional sub-machinegunners and the like but they get killed fast. Almost no enemy tanks, dwindling amount of air cover.
2. You will not do well as a noob. Use your trial to your advantage. Every day is a new lesson for you, learn from them. Eventually you will be the experienced killer everybody else is.
3. Stick with it, when the times are tough just seek out large battles and have fun. Do paratrooper raids when you're a noob, those are the best even for experienced players.
