You're using a 1.333333 aspect, which is normally for HDV 1080p. Set it to 1.000 and it will look correct.

Sorry guys, I wasn't being sarcastic.
Fairly dull world, boring story, no real characters to speak of, terrible voice work, the simplified UI which is obviously made to cater to controllers, the combat was fine as a means to kill things, fucking Oblivion gates, fast traveling is too convenient... Morrowind's silt rider system was perfect, extremely buggy engine, simplified inventory system and no more segmented armor pieces, crafting is pointless now, and fucking level scaling.
It's absolutely impossible to play the game unmodded as when you apply a few graphics mods, UI mods, and environment mods it suddenly becomes decent.
Decent enough to explore the world atleast.

Biggest problem I had was every time I just started getting immersed in the atmosphere of the game; something incredibly fucking stupid would happen and I would never get fully immersed.

I was about 2 hours into the game... thoroughly sucked into it.
Then I run across a courier rider stuck inside of a sign post.
Immersion lost.

It's fucking fantastic.
It's the best Civ game I've ever played, hands down, and one of the best games I've ever played.
Almost all of the annoyances of past games are either fixed or removed, a bunch of great features are added, and the Civ + Scenario packs are great fun.
Buy it whenever you can, but for every 5 minutes you want to play, take 5 hours out of your schedule. This game gave me the worst One More Turn Syndrome out of all the Civ games.

for me it was walking out of the sewers for the very first time. That part was fucking awesome, just looking at the environment and the music playing in the background. I explored for a good 2 hours then decided to head towards the city. I was sucked in
I entered the Imperial city. Then I was kicked the fuck out as countless bugs just screamed out and just completely destroyed it.
I decided to screw around with the portal two level editor trying to learn to use hammer, and this is what I got.

Indeed, it has this random overpowered AOE spell that it sometimes casts that as you can very well see, can wipe out the entire party you're in in one fell swoop.

Even though my comp is 2009 high end and can handle some older games on highest settings, I like lowering resolution to 800x600 and disable antialiasing. I like it a lot for some reason.
