Then try to play logically and just get killed by the first literal glob of heavy choppers. Try to use AA or get a friend to bring AA with you and get them destroyed by the helicopters. Spam mediums and have them all do a single pixel of damage to any tank they come up against and again killed by more heavy choppers, or get heavies and try to, again, play logically, and have them do diddly dick to anything they come up against and get raped by random tank busters, tank emplacements, show their sides because you wanted to tell them to back up or move slightly behind them, raped by random invincible heavy choppers, or even goddamned heavy artillery while doing all of 15% of any enemy heavy tank you come across. Or have your tanks refuse to shoot at the enemy while getting utterly destroyed or randomly approach every enemy they see to 50 meters and THEN start firing, if they're not already dead by then, after giving a simple attack order.
Trying infantry and just getting killed by literally every single fucking enemy unit ever. Hiding in forests, being bored, killing maybe a helicopter or two, doing jackshit against enemy heavy tanks, never finding soft vehicles, being bored some more because if you leave your forest you insta-die, working your ass off to kill a single enemy vehicle and losing half of your force, getting napalmed, being bored some more while spamming enter building exit building etc etc.
I want to like it so much but it's so fucking stupid, I mean it's not like other RTS's where I'll succeed a little by doing something and maybe fail a lot with something else. I literally have gotten absolutely fucking JACK SHIT done in WiC. I just can't figure it the fuck out.

I try to get into it every few weeks by some stupid random urge and nothing I do can make me even remotely successful in it.

One of the big problems is that the hardcore group of players have made the game different from what I used to be in 2007. For example, regular infantry are now used as hidden AA pickets rather than you know, infantry.
Honestly I think that World in Conflict could take a few cues from some wargames I've played but we'll see what solutions Massive can think up for WiC 2.
Massive really need to make a WIC 2. I want to know what happens after the Seattle invasion!

PRC joins the war, North Korea invades the South, Thailand joins the war too along with India. Fighting still going on in Iran between the Rapid Deployment Force and Soviets in that theater.

*explantation: We were playing cavern map with two Russian dudes who left because they're Russians... I mean because they're retards.
Then we kept shopping crates and never attacked each other - eventually sudden death came, made us ill and water started raising.
So we started trying to get higher places and kept collecting crates, avoiding each other. It was all fun and games until water started filling our shoes and sickness drained our health to 1. So we reached cave ceiling and dug up. We reached map ceiling soon... And then water killed us both because we couldn't get any higher.
