Interesting. I really like stuff like that. Part of Fallout's charm to me is it's sometime Monty Python-esque humor. I loved having the extra line of dialogue on Mothership Zeta for getting the Mysterious Stranger perk.
Seems like a good compromise anyway.
Fallout 1 and 2 have the best story.
Fallout 3 has the best side quests.
Hopefully New Vegas can improve on the gameplay instead of being "Oblivion with guns: the expansion pack"

Agreed. FO3 had some nice side quests although not THAT many. 1 and 2 had a great story. They seem to be combining both for NV. Original writers doing the story and we can expect improved quality of FO3 sidequests. I think the story will be a bit more immersive too. Apparently there's a lot of parts where you can have a direct impact and you decide the game's story. Caesar's Legion, NCR, House, or yourself. Or perhaps the other smaller factions can be lead to glory.
