Its PC game most people don't lend them out. Also you can play games in offline mode even if they are integrated into steam.

What's wrong with unknown files? I have been downloading some really rare files on many suspicious sites because I could not find them elsewhere, and doing some really bad stuff, but last time I got a virus was about... never. I never got a virus in 10 years.

You can disguise a dll/exe as jpg anytime, the file extension means nothing what hides inside, so you must always have your anti virus be ready.
