Don't think so, but I'm sure there's a patch that makes them compatible.

I don't like FWE though, since it's not fun to play with the flawed shooting mechanics of Fallout 3.
Weird. Every time I unpack the project beauty HD resources, I get a shitload of CRC errors and half the files are 0 bytes when I view them in explorer. I've tried downloading it on 3 separate browsers and opening it with WinRar and 7zip, but still no dice. Funny thing is, it worked a few days ago when I installed it, but now I need to download it again due to reasons of shit getting fucked up it won't work. I'd be content with the SD version but all the old people have a huge exclamation mark where their head should be and I think it's because it wants the HD resources. I'll try downloading the standard ESPs again.

I would uninstall it, but I'm not sure I can patch up the hole it leaves behind. (Uninstalling it leads to a FUCKLOAD of missing meshes)
Well I just found out why my screen shots won't show.

Turn off UAC? Everyone talks about problems running FO3 with W7 and Vista, but most of it's fixed by turning off UAC.

Maybe the sniping gear one too.
I'm trying CFW now but I don't know if I want to keep it, a lot of the weapons feel half finished. Are there any mods that add those weapons individually?
Slap me if I've not paid attention or read something wrong, but it seems that the New Vegas Collectors Edition isn't getting released in the UK. I've looked on lots of sites and theres no sign of it coming out over here.

I haven't encountered any problems with FWE so far, I love it.

Do you have ArchiveInvalidation Invalidated? You probably do but it's one of the main reasons that shit breaks.

I like it more than FOOK2. FOOK2 broke my mod and crashed almost all the time. I had to cheat into Rivet City because I'd crash if I tried to go in there. I haven't played FO3 in a while though because I somehow completely screwed up the animations. This happens whenever I shoot a 2hrifle.

Wouldn't the weapon mod kits make the assault rifle added in the pitt useless?
Wouldn't the weapon mod kits make the assault rifle added in the pitt useless?
Probably, but I never used it anyways.
[editline]08:44PM[/editline]
But the upside to using that assault rifle is that it already has a silencer and scope. You'd just need to attach an extended magazine and a laser sight and you'd be ready to go, whereas with a regular assault rifle you'd need a scope, a silencer, an extended magazine, and a laser sight to have it fully modded.

So I managed to fix my problem with the missing heads by deleting some corrupted meshes that had got extracted to the meshes folder by accident, but now all the weapons from FWE and everything to do with the point lookout DLC is fucked up. ffffffffffuuuuuuuuuu
[editline]05:01PM[/editline]
Ahh, the CRC errors I was getting were due to the maidenhead mirror presumably having a corrupt file. Downloaded it from seattle and I get no errors in unzipping.
[editline]06:32PM[/editline]
Everything's fixed now. Apart from the occasional crash, I can finally play the damn game. Is there a mod like streamline for oblivion, which clears your cell buffer every once in a while to prevent overloading the various memory limits?
Is FWE the best fallout mod out there?
No, it's the best realism mod. The best mod is your own compilation of your own favorite features.
No, it's the best realism mod. The best mod is your own compilation of your own favorite features.
Okay, I was just wondering because it's recommended so much but I'm hesitant to use it.
I didn't like it. The clunky FPS controls of Fallout 3 plus realistic damage do not equate fun for me, when the enemies can shoot better than I can.
Especially those with miniguns.
Is FWE the best fallout mod out there?
Depends. I like FOOK, and I would be using it now if I could be bothered to set everything up again after uninstalling FWE, but it (Well, FOOK 1 was, I don't know about FOOK2 as I haven't played it) is marginally less polished than FWE. It has a hell of a lot more cool shit, though, even if some of the models/sounds/textures etc aren't too good. FWE has a cool little control panel though which can be used to control aspects of other supported mods, like MMM's increased spawns, and can also be used to tweak FWE's settings, like the combat and primary needs to your liking. I'd recommend FOOK to anyone though, even over FWE. It doesn't mess with too many things but does enhance the game a lot.
Oh yeah, and all of those mods are also integrated into FOOK too.
The one thing that stopped me getting into the first two Fallouts was the combat. You can say YOU ADHD FAGGOT YOU SHOULD GET SOME PATIENCE but seriously the combat is so slow compared to things these days. Hell, I play 4X strategy games religiously and I still can't handle Fallout 1/2's combat.
Maybe I should try it again sometime, though.
It took me 3 times of trying before I got away from the vault without being bored, and goddamn I so fucking love this game now. It's in my top 3 (with half life 1 & age of empires II being in there, and FO1 might take spot 1) The combat is really tense once you get some decent weapons/enemies, and sometimes it's actually really fast (one shotting bad guys). But indeed, shooting rats with a pistol is boring. Blowing a mutant's eyes out with a plasma rifle is fucking awesome.
What I so love about it is everything around it, you got dozens of vaults in FO 1 2 and tactics, the whole story around it is so brilliantly made. Easter eggs, references, I can't name it. The atmosphere...
I loved FO3 at first, but after playing FO1, I feel like I'm eating a hamburger after having dined in a world-renown restaurant, it satisfies, but it's not even close to the former experience. FO3 & tactics both seem to have lost something that made the first two games 'brilliant' instead of 'nice' IMO. FO3 has too much of an TES: Oblivion feel (the killing people without witnesses thing, stuff like that shouldn't be realistic, but they SHOULD make sense), I just can't help it. Oblivion is nice but it also gets boring after a while, every dungeon is the same etc (let alone the voice acting). FO3 was better in that aspect but still not enough.
Also the connection between the player and the combat isn't 100% to me, they give you a FPS and RPG choice but I can't help but feel that both could've been made better. Instead of making a 100% system, they made two 50% systems. This is just my opinion, I fucking hated FO 1 & 2 at first but they've caught me and I can't escape anymore.
I.
FUCKING.
LOVE.
FALLOUT
Oh yeah what I really hate about FO3 and TES:Oblivion is the way characters interact with the world & with combat and everything, they aren't part of it (you know what I mean), they move around terribly... So in general I think FO3 just was kind of a hasty job instead of something that went through lots of development. It feels like a big oblivion mod...
