I'm going to pre-order it tonight but I need help deciding where to pre-order from. I would pre-order from steam because it's the most convinient and it has the bonuses I want the most but then I couldn't get the collectors edition. I would order from gamestop but they have the lammest bonus, however their bonus seems less OP for the begining of the game. I would pre-order from bestbuy but their website mentions nothing about pre-ordering the collectors edition.
I'm pretty sure a few days after it's released people will add mods that allow you to use the bonuses from the pre-orders you don't have. Don't fret.
Why Pre-order..When someone will do a mod later.

Just bought the Fallout 3 GoTY Edition. Any mods I should know about that fix bugs/improve fps, that sort of thing? I'd like to play through it as vanilla as possible, but community made bug fixes are welcome.
Maybe all of the pre-order content is already on the disc, so you could use the player.additem command to get them. I hope that's the case.

The game is OK as it is. Don't install any mod's at all. All these Gameplay "fixes that makes gameplay better" mods just ruins the game, every single mod, no exceptions. IMHO

I'm talking about actual bug fixes, like that huge community made pack for Oblivion that actually fixes a lot of game-breaking bugs. I don't want any mods that change the gameplay.

has anybody ran into a deathclaw early game? because i started a new file and was doing the moira quest where i need to go to super-duper mart, and BAM the two raiders and the trader are dead with a deathclaw standing over their bodies with 2 bars of health. i was lucky enough to empty out my 10mm on him before he killed my armorless ass. also what's this deathclaw gauntlet? i found the schematics for it off the trader's body.

well, the problem with that is that, any of those kind of bugs that were was fixed by bethesda themselves or occour on freak computers (weird combos of hardware).

I watched an UFO crash.. Jumped out of my chair a little, but I didn't knew what it was so haven't explored the crash site.

Sorry if this is a repeat question but when you already own Fallout 3 on Steam and buy the GOTY what exactly happens? does it replace it, do you have both and do you have to download the whole game again or just the DLC content?

Fallout New Vegas is an entirely new game. They are buying pre-orders and with the pre-orders come some bullshit that adds to your game.
