1 - 2 IS boring. IT was good back in the fucking 90's but today it sucks ass.
I played Fallout 1 for the first time ever in 2009, and I completely disagree, you just have the attention span of a squash.
I wish fallout new vegas did't have the same graphics that fallout 3 has.. they suck,
Ay, I played through Fallout 1 and 2 through last year, clocked over 150 hours on both, then played 3 and forced myself to play through the 50th hour, the BoreQuit.
1 - 2 IS boring. IT was good back in the fucking 90's but today it sucks ass.
A game doesn't just stop being good. That would mean silent movies and the collective works of William Shakespeare all suck.
I really enjoyed Fallout 1 & 2. In the beginning it's a bit slow but it gets more fun. Fallout 3 was good too, but it really isn't the best fallout.
Noooo!!! They killed RL3!!! Now where I am going to store all my food?
People are so butthurt over Fallout 3 it's funny. They can't even see how boring the first 2 were and how 3 improved the gameplay.

As I said (and stated in the PM, this can be considered a bump), Fallout 3 is as canon as Tactics and BoS. Can't wait for Harold. . .
Fallout 3 is canon, whether you like it or not. I wouldn't keep up your hopes up for Harold, either. He's dead (most likely)
Noooo!!! They killed RL3!!! Now where I am going to store all my food?
....what?
and the collective works of William Shakespeare all suck.
They do.
....what?
I think someone killed Sargent LR3 in Fallout 3
I played Fallout 1 for the first time ever in 2009, and I completely disagree, you just have the attention span of a squash.
Yep. [editline]08:10PM[/editline] If you guys keep yapping about that everyone that hates FO 1 & 2 needs some pills, this just further the fact that you're a lazy fuck that spends way to much time on the computer because fast games are way to "hardcore" for you. In return i'll say: hit the fucking gym.
If you guys keep yapping about that everyone that hates FO 1 & 2 needs some pills,
Nah, as long as people say "I don't like it because..." or "in my opinion..." I won't suggest pills, but it was stated more like a fact than an opinion.
this just further the fact that you're a lazy fuck that spends way to much time on the computer because fast games are way to "hardcore" for you.
I am indeed a lazy fuck, and I definitely spend too much time in front of the PC, but the bolded part is contradicting the rest, wouldn't I love hardcore game and whine about "those damn casuals" if I was a fat nerd?
In return i'll say: hit the fucking gym.
Well that's exactly what I did yesterday morning. I don't care if people don't like FO1-2 and prefer 3, just don't state it as a fact (and this goes for any game, not just FO).
this just further the fact that you're a lazy fuck that spends way to much time on the computer because fast games are way to "hardcore" for you.
I am lazy and spend too much time in front of the computer but you know what? It's time well spent.
In return I'll say: hit the fucking gym.
I did that this morning, how about you?
Is New Vegas really a spinoff?
New Vegas is a continuation of the Fallout 2 story line (not completely, it just uses factions etc. from FO2)
....what?
I use RL3 To store my food and shit like that Got RTS, I left him somewhere near my settlement, then a message appears that we is waiting me in canterbury commons. I wait 2 days then I go there and I find him getting owned by some feral ghouls
I am lazy and spend too much time in front of the computer but you know what? It's time well spent. I did that this morning, how about you?
Ditto
ITT: Massive lump of biggot fans of same series claims there be two series. seriously guys. it's called fallout 1,2,3 for a reason and the spinoffs are without numbers for a reason. and unless you're a butthurt biggot nitpicker, or slow to comprehend. you'll see sensible reason behind some inconsistensies. (i explain the differing mutants by thinking of two different cultures on each their coasts. one group had a leader and made sense, the other group had no leader and was just retarded). stop being assroasted dickbrains and start thinking. ... wonder what that's supposed to mean? New Vegas is gonna be the SHIT! the old story continued in Fallout 3 fashion. awesome, now we just need an Isometric Turnbased spinoff.
it's called fallout 1,2,3 for a reason
Because Bethesda bought the rights to it, they may own the rights, they however don't have the same sense for the universe as the original creators do. and Monkey, "lazy" people would play casual or fast games, because, they're, y'know, lazy, so they're likely not to spend a long time going through something that isn't always instant gratification.
I only play fallout for the great story and awesome exploration... and music... Graphics and gameplay kinda suck but I can live with it.
Where the fuck is the improvements [editline]02:42PM[/editline] This looks exactly the same as FO3
Looks =/= is [editline]08:36PM[/editline]
I only play fallout for the great story and awesome exploration... and music... Graphics and gameplay kinda suck but I can live with it.
Graphics didn't bother me so much as the combat, Fallout 3's combat is bad but even if the first 2 fallout game's combat worked, still bored me to tears, the only thing that kept me going in those games was the story and the atmosphere (which showed a far more depraved wasteland than FO3 if you ask me) [editline]08:37PM[/editline]
In Fallout 3, Bob enveloped Harold and trapped him in the Capital Wasteland's Oasis. It's been said that his vital organs have been shifted about the entirety of Oasis. (His heart is located in a damn cave filled with Mirelurks!) There's physically no possible reason that Harold could be over in Nevada, since he's TRAPPED IN A TREE IN WASHINGTON DC!
NV could be set a bit before FO3 takes place.
Graphics didn't bother me so much as the combat, Fallout 3's combat is bad but even if the first 2 fallout game's combat worked, still bored me to tears, the only thing that kept me going in those games was the story and the atmosphere (which showed a far more depraved wasteland than FO3 if you ask me)
That depravity had a lot more meaning than any of the evil or morally suspect things that happen in Fallout 3. Turns out all Redding needed to escape the horrors of being enslaved by Jet, to the Mordino Family, was some cheap pre-war wonder drug.
NV could be set a bit before FO3 takes place.
New Vegas takes place in 2280, three years after the events of Fallout 3.
New Vegas takes place in 2280, three years after the events of Fallout 3.
Well that sucks [editline]09:05PM[/editline] Anyone else hoping for more dynamic and characters in which you can talk about things other than "GENERIC 'WHATS THE NEWS AROUND TOWN'" or "HAVE YOU SEEN MY FATHER" I always though actual character interactions were a bit lacking in Fallout 3, hope they take some hints from Bioware and make characters a bit more emotional and less like cardboard cutouts with walkey-talkies taped to them in NV
I don't have fallout 3 installed on my computer because it eats up way too much time. One time I played to the point where the save file was 25 megabytes. Also I had 25 gigabytes of mods.
The only thing I hated in the first two was when I wanted to clear out a town it took an hour to get to my turn because of all the hostiles, other then that fantastic story, atmosphere and music. And the gore was kick ass!
Fallout 1 = Ahh, the memories. I didn't really rush through it, I chose to help all the towns right till' the end. Perfect game with a perfect theme. Fallout 2 = Two words. FRANK HORRIGAN. The San Francisco bit dragged on for a little but the game was still fantastic. Fallout 3 = 'Eyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy, the game was okay. I disliked it how Beth had to shove aliens in (they were easter eggs in the previous ones) and make it so that you can convince the president to self-destruct in like 3 sentences. They also butchered the canon. Fallout Tactics = I didn't really play this much. Online was great, but the story died on me after awhile. I liked its system though. Fallout: BoS = Believe it or not, I actually got my hands on this game. Let's just say, these were Interplay's dark times.. Fallout: New Vegas = Some of the original devs + a good story!? I think I just splooged. Project V13 = This ain't comin' out for another year or so, I'll be keeping my eyes on it though. I've gotta say that I enjoyed the originals more. But I guess with no real isometric games coming out these days, newer gamers can't really enjoy the classics. P'haps one day isometric gameplay will return. Oh and http://www.duckandcover.cx/ is also a good source of Fallout info, add that to the OP.
Fallout: New Vegas = Some of the original devs + a good story!? I think I just splooged.
Don't blow your load just yet, we have no idea what the story is.
