Is there some way to make ArchiveInvalidation Invalidated work on Windows 7?
Fallout Mod Manager
Just saw the video, looked great! Gamebryo doesn't do the graphics any favors though, everything looks kind of bland. I hate how the strip looks, so much empty space, the bright flashy lights and imaginative buildings are nice though. I hope those iron sights get 'ironed' out as well.
fuck yes slaves [img_thumb]http://filesmelt.com/dl/Fallout3_2010-06-16_00-43-36-22.png[/img_thumb] Only problem is occasionally the whores (which you can't see in this shot) will attempt to have sex with the slaves, which in addition to being completely awkward and unwanted is also buggy as hell, as the sex animation conflicts with the slave's directive to stand up at all times, so they sort of flail between the sex animation and a standing position.
Let your slaves sit sometimes jesus
Holy shit you guys. A Follower Command System! This means that the obligatory Dogmeat character won't die as soon as I enter the obligatory ravenous monster-infested cave, due to sheer stupidity! From what I see, counterclockwise: Use Melee (possibly a toggle between guns and Melee), Open Inventory, Follow Far Away(Toggle between Follow distances?), You're Fired(?), Talk, Wait(?), Unknown, and presumably a special ability for each one of the followers (Like Dogmeat has a 'find shit for me' ability) Also, a neat little "Test Your Strength" minigame.
Still, new vegas is fucking empty. Its a city for christ sake, and it looks small!

My god it's so hazy what the fuck
i really hope they fix "natural" firing so at least myself does not have to rely on VATS. sometimes the weapon just doesn't fire, probably because of lag or something.
Let your slaves sit sometimes jesus
Note the fact that in the screenshot they're sitting down. I'm not sure about what aspect is conflicting, but it's definitely because they're slaves as, if it's any consolation, the whores have sex with normal p[eople just fine. I might just uninstall that prostitution mod, it's kinda awkward when I go up to murder someone with Mister Sandman and I get the option to 'give him a bj' plus most of the prostitutes do nothing but stand around, the slaves at least try and make conversation with each other, even if it is along the lines of: 'Hi there!' 'You keep looking at me, I'll kick your fuckin' eyes down your throat' 'I just can't help it, you're so pretty!' [editline]12:25PM[/editline]
Mind posting a link to BOSS-F?
http://fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=10193 If you've ever used BOSS for oblivion, this is exactly the same. If not, read the readme. [editline]12:37PM[/editline]
Wow... i'm gonna need you to repeat that slowly. i've only played Vanilla so far, with some texture mods, and i'm gonna install FWE and Darnified today. i know there's a Fallout Mod Manager, there's some invalidate stuff. but what are the others?
Creating a merged patch is pretty simple. Download FO3Edit and put it in your root FO3 folder. Now run it. Once all your mods have finished loading (background loader: finished should appear in the bottom left), right click anywhere in the left pane (where your mods are displayed) and click 'create merged patch'. Give it a filename (I just use 'Merged Patch', cick OK, the creation should only take a second. Now exit FO3Edit, and a little box should come up with your merged patch in it. Click OK. You're done! Be sure to make sure it's activated in FOMM before playing. As for the masterupdate, copy your FO3Edit.exe to your desktop, rename the copy to 'FO3MasterUpdate' (without the quotes) and move it back to your Fallout 3 folder. Now run it. It'll take a few moments to run, and when it finishes, just close it. if FO3Edit ever has trouble loading your mods, make another copy of it and name it 'FO3MasterRestore', then run it. Once you're done making your merged patch, run the master update again. Running your mods through these utilities is not necessary to play the game, but it greatly improves stability and helps ensure compatibility. It is necessary for large overhaul mods like FWE, though. You should run BOSS, remake your merged patch and rerun your masterupdate every time you add mods to your load order.
This is not an FPS. it's a First Person RPG with guns. now, the guns have a skill percentage which directly influences your chances of hitting. (you know all this, i'm getting to the point) You're not meant to go all CoD in this game. they've included a fancy, RPG flavored auto-aiming system that removes the human flaw factor from the aiming so that it's all about the calculations. this is how you're meant to shoot. and THAT'S why the leveling system is there in the Fallout series of Role Playing Games. IF however you want a post apocalyptic-ish FPS with light undertones of RPG, Go play STALKER. if you don't... well. i wasn't offensive, i wasn't. i just gave you the reason WHY this isn't your usual FPS and why it is not a Broken FPS but a well working RPG.
I always thought the aiming and shooting in fallout 3 was very fucked. For some reason it was very broken. Don't get me wrong, I like RPG's, but not being able to shoot at all without a VATS like system seems pretty stupid to me, or at least having the option not to. This is one aspect that CoD actually is good in. The shooting mechanics work. Gameplay fucking sucks, but the mechanics of the gunplay are very good compered to fallout 3. When you play a game, it's about getting into the role of the character, and I think having to stop the game and choose what to shoot at based of calculations subtracts from that. (Tim Buckly actually made a comic that represents my feelings on this) However, because of the broken shooting in FO3, VATS at times on the harder difficulties became a necessity. Having a thing that tracks the number of kills with a particular weapon and makes you have better skill with that weapon seems cool. This is a different post altogether For some reason in FWE, Dogmeat won't die. He just gets knocked out. Even with the puppies perk. Should I just go into the console and disable setessential? [editline]07:51AM[/editline]
Still, new vegas is fucking empty. Its a city for christ sake, and it looks small!
Ever been to Nevada? When you're not in the cities or the towns it is very possible to be out in the ass end of nowhere. [editline]07:51AM[/editline]
Does that mean bethesda ended the lawsuit?
What lawsuit? Who was it between?
This is a different post altogether For some reason in FWE, Dogmeat won't die. He just gets knocked out. Even with the puppies perk. Should I just go into the console and disable setessential?
FWE makes all the companions essential, but gives them permanent injuries that remain until you find some surgical supplies, a medical brace, and some stimpacks. I think this is a good way of doing things, as I don't like my companions dying on me, but there's gotta be some kind of tradeoff.
What lawsuit? Who was it between?
Bethesda was suing interplay for breach of contract. [editline]08:03AM[/editline]
Also I'm thinking off uninstalling FOSE. Fallout 3 may be the game I'll ever achieve every achievement and I kinda want to do that. Should I?
Anyone have anything to say on this? I can't decide for myself, im an indecisive bastard.
Anyone have anything to say on this? I can't decide for myself, im an indecisive bastard.
Stop caring about achievements. More specifically, stop caring about achievements on games for fucking windows live. FOSE is way more valuable than GFWL any day of the week and if you uninstall it you're doing yourself a disservice.
FOSE allows mods to work more effectively by rewriting a lot of the scripts. Disabling or uninstalling it would make a lot of mods not work. Also, I know how you feel about achievements, being a achievement whore myself, but FOSE is more worth it by making mods work more effectively.
Saw new vegas gameplay on g4.It looks ok. Fighting is the same as fallout 3. The sites for the machine gun looked strange.
all the iron sights, at the moment, are temporary.

Not to mention that these things have been detailed a long time ago, but I won't hold it against you or give you a clock.
Well I didn't mention how I don't want to use weapon mod kits anymore and I haven't been using FWE so what's the point of having FOSE installed?
It stops GFWL from working, which is a good thing. And there's a shitload of mods that use FOSE, so it's worth keeping it for any mods that you might download in the future.
Well what other mods out there use FOSE?
I can't fucking remember off the top of my head. There are a shitload, though.
Most mods that require you to do a keybind etc need FOSE, and advanced scripting needs it too. There's no real reason NOT to use it. If you wanna get the achievements, do a vanilla playthrough.
They're going to keep expanding on what is basically the same game until console gamers stop buying the DLC. My bet is that the devs will just use the DLC to feel out the market and figure out when it's time to stop.

It's exactly like practicing, you would experience the same difficulties hitting anything from hip fire. the firing is ok for this game since it's perfectly playable from VATS since that was their focus point. as far as i understood, New Vegas Iron sight will enhance your chances to hit making manual fire much better... but I'm probably sticking with VATS. Have we already discussed multiplayer yet?
