Have we already discussed multiplayer yet?
There's no multi, stop living in a dream.
Also if Fallout 3 isn't supposed to be played like an FPS, why are the gameplay mechanics like one?

Maybe if i believe...
but seriously, if obsidian/bethseda get enough flame/ make an epic break through it will happen.

No. No it won't.
No. No it won't.
why couldn't it?
[sp]besides the obvious problem with vats slowdown.[/sp]

I didn't mean it like an mmorpg, i meant it too be like, you can play single player, but if you want to invite your friends you can, and you could run around with a team of 4 max and the enemy count would increase by how many friends you have.

Great idea have you emailed Bethesda and Obsidian about this?

are you being sarcastic?
are you being sarcastic?
No man seriously, the game releases in about 5 months, there's enough time to tack on multiplayer

I believe they already made that. Border-something?
I believe they already made that. Border-something?
There is a supermassive difference between Fallout the gritty, non-linear RPG and Borderlands the humorous, somewhat-linear FPS.

Really? I don't know Iv'e never played Borderlands.

Did you happen to read what I was responding to? I was talking about a specific feature.
Multiplayer in New Vegas...Wow, would be cool. It won't happen though.
I hope I can ride horses in New Vegas while listening to the Bonanza Theme.
No there isn't. And I'm pretty sure they have thought about it, too.
I thought Mutli-player would never be possible with Oblivion/Fallout because of the game engine. Every tried playing Oblivion Online? Not the smoothest experience.
I think it would be cool if the two players started in random positions and just played normally. If they ran across each other, then one could get killed, or one could run away, but the entire world keeps changing depending on what you and the other player do, questwise and such.
I also know that won't ever happen.

this sounds good, only with 4 players.
I didn't mean it like an mmorpg, i meant it too be like, you can play single player, but if you want to invite your friends you can, and you could run around with a team of 4 max and the enemy count would increase by how many friends you have.
Yeah, Borderlands is exactly like that as far as multiplayer goes. Don't get me wrong, Co-Op in New Vegas would probably be loads of fun, but Fallout is a single-player game (with the exception of Fallout Online). It just feels like it would be tacked-on because of that.
Well, the game IS VATS focused... i can't see how you would have a problem with the aiming if you knew that that was the way the game was supposed to be played.
So I am supposed to use vats every other time I want to kill things? Wow, how fun. And who the fuck are you to tell me or anyone that they don't know how to play this game. I said the shooting mechanics are odd. That's a problem with the engine, not my personal preference. I have several freinds who all played FO3 on both the PC and the 360 who said that something about shooting was weird.
my wording was actually off, whether you manually aim or VATS, your chances to hit are always the same...
No they're not. Go and get a sniper rifle at 100% condition and start shooting at a raider from a long way away. Your chances are much higher if you aim manually then with VATS. Then do the same thing with a fast moving target. On the PC it might not be a problem but on the console using VATS would increase your chances of hitting it.
Then go and use the grenades or the railway rifle. Because they are slow moving projectiles using VATS on a moving target increases your chances of hitting it.
and, I've got to say this, if you're a dolt and aren't distributing as much skill in your primary weapon class as you can, then you deserve to miss.
So I should just pile all my skill points into small guns/energy weapons/big guns, and not worry about speech, explosives, lockpick, science, so on so forth?
the firing is ok for this game since it's perfectly playable from VATS since that was their focus point.
I agree that the firing is okay, not the best, but okay...but since when was VATS the focus point of the entire shooting mechanic of the game?
as far as i understood, New Vegas Iron sight will enhance your chances to hit making manual fire much better... but I'm probably sticking with VATS.
Go into fallout right now and right click with a weapon. That's what ironsights are gonna do.
yeah, uhh... did anyone in here sound like they cared for your negative oppinion?
This is a public forum. People are allowed to say their opinion of something as long as they are not flaming or trolling.
Still getting CTD's with DarnUI. I reinstalled FO3, and reinstalled all my mods, and DarnUI is the only thing giving me trouble. I'm trying the FMOD version with the FWE fix.
Fallout new vegas 1up preview (contains gameplay)
http://gamevideos.1up.com/video/id/29981
well i really cant wait for this game now thanks for the link.
Everything he said.
I agree with you. I don't know what made him think the focus is on VATS. It's not focused on manual shooting either, although more people may play manually, they put in two options so you can PLAY HOW YOU WANT. I also noticed that the manual shooting was a bit tough in tight situations, and I often found myself relying on VATS in situations where I would die in manual.
Although iron sights won't make it manual shooting easier alone, you guys are forgetting that Obsidian may have improved the shooting mechanics for New Vegas. Wait until you play it.
They already said that NV won't have MP. Go drool on PV13 :3:
Guys New Vegas just got better. Apparently you can KILL ANY ADULT NPC IN THE GAME (children are still immortal) and still complete the story, or you can go without killing anyone and still complete the story. Plus there are non-lethal weapons like the boxing gloves and a riot shotgun that shoots beanbags. Oh man.
Also, everyone bitching about the iron sights, watch http://gamevideos.1up.com/video/id/29981, at about ten minutes, he says the current ones "are not the true iron sights we are putting in the game..."

I really do hope so. Not saying it will be a bad game if they haven't, but it will be a better game if they have.
I thought Mutli-player would never be possible with Oblivion/Fallout because of the game engine. Every tried playing Oblivion Online? Not the smoothest experience.
that's because some random dev team implemented their own netcode, correct? did you except it to run flawless?
I put 2 points in every skill until I run out.
