Operation Anchorage was a fucking combat simulator! Why wouldn't they turn the game into an FPS?!
The music in F3 is sooo depressing..
Anything by The Ink Spots is depressing and simultaneously awesome. All the other tracks are just plain awesome, and lend a joyous feeling to the act of embedding your baseball bat into a mutant's skull.

I think the point is that Fallout 3 kinda fails at being a simple FPS, due the horrible shooting mechanics, so focusing on something that's kinda bad in the game is a stupid idea.

They could have, y'know, just not made a DLC about a combat simulator and therefore the lackluster FPS element of the game and instead made a DLC that was actually good.

All their songs start the exact same way. Cannot unhear.

Yeah, I noticed that. Weird.
Any updates on the 40k mod? Fallout 3 needed more big mods. I have yet to see a total conversion! And still no big city mods.........
and, there could not be other contributing factors than a game being "hard" on the card? like continual exposure to heat? a shortage? wear?
I played the first bit of Fallout 3 (in the vault) and when I turned it of my card just gave up and gave me some fucking black squares and lines on the screen. I had warranty so now I have a Saphire HD 5870
And yes, the HD4870 X2 had heat problems. It went up on 85 c when it was active and idle about 50 - 55.
Funny enough, I played The Pitt and afterwards installed GECK and started making a Big city, all lootable, but I'm still working out the entirety of the Geck. So beats me, I really should get back to stalker modding though. :P

DCInteriors is practically a big city mod.
DCInteriors is practically a big city mod.
How so?
DCInteriors is practically a big city mod.
I meant vegas size.
I wanted to play Fallout 3 but not anymore sience it killed my old Saphire HD 4870 X2. Rate dumb if you want but its 100 % true.
Sounds like it was only the straw that broke the camel's already overheated and overstressed back.
How so?
Well it adds huge amounts of building interiors, it might as well be a new city in itself.

He was probably overclocking it.
Fallout 3 becomes fun after you install a few dozen of your favorite mods.

That's not a city.....
He was probably overclocking it.
It was on standard clocks. I just adjusted the fan to work on 40 % to make it cool better.
That's not a city.....
Might as well be. And you have no fucking idea how much of a dickhead those ellipses make you look like.
I seem to be having some trouble with the DLC, I bought Point Lookout, Broken Steel and The Pitt, I've received the message the Point Lookout and Broken Steel have loaded but I still haven't gotten the radio distress signal for The Pitt. Has anyone else encountered this issue and managed to fix it?
As Generic Monk knows (yet nobody responds about), I was working on a (sort of) city, Vault 101 ReOpened. I may continue progress.

So good it made me kill everyone at Tenpenny tower!

Agree. Default FO3 is boring.
Anyone know of some great mods? I am not looking for realism or increased difficulty but something that makes the game more fun and improves some minor gameplay issues. I've been looking through Fallout Nexus for a while and all I can find are shitty female replacements (seriously for every good mod I can find there are about 60 sex related ones on FO Nexus).
Update on Vault 101 ReOpened (for anyone who cares. I mean, seriously.)
I'm currently doing the bare cells of Vault 101 (by scratch), then the detail, lighting, then the quests and actual contents and that stuff.
Because Vault 101 is kinda small in its quests, I'm working on 'unlocking' additional rooms for the complex, to loosen up the 'inaccessible' rooms.
Currently the Entrance is done for stage one of construction, the Atrium and upper levels are nearly done, but the Living Quarters and Reactor Level still remain.
I'll also have to do the destroyed version, but I might do that first, because it's much less content.
I still need these, and I couldn't accomplish them:

Rusty Vault 101 sliding doors and giant Cog door. If I do the destroyed version first, I would need the doors soon.

Scripts for preeeeeeeeeetty much the entire mod. Need them later, but help is still welcome.
And that's about all for now.
I want to post a thread, but I feel I haven't done enough, so maybe later, when the thread attracts attention, I could get these.
I also need to work on a banner, but I could probably get it done myself. Better banners and all-over suggestions are welcome.
Any CC? Seriously, Generic Monk's lone support is the only reason I decided to revive this.

this is the Fallout Series Thread, not the Fallout 3 Mod Thread.

Well while I wouldn't live in a vault (water tower hideout forever), this sounds interesting anyway. Always like exploring.
You know, The Settler is outdated so most people wouldn't help. Real-Time Settler is the most recent version.

It's not (yet another) vault house mod that looks like Vault 101 or something.
It's a concept to reopen the Vault and include it as a sort of city, complete with Overseer Amata, Andy, and all the other Vault Dwellers.
With new content, of course.
Urgh, now my game crashes whenever I leave point lookout
