Speaking of Fallout 3, instead of making a thread I thought I'd ask you guys how well you think my PC would run it.
I can handle it not looking pretty as long as I can play it without slowing down or getting choppy, especially outside.

It'll play on low/medium on whatever resolution, I think. Buy more RAM, it's cheap.
Yeah I'll definantly buy more than 2 gigs of RAM so I'm not so worried about that as I am my CPU and card.
Both will run it.
But decently you think ?
I run it on a Single core P4 3.0GHZ, 2GB ram and a HD3870. (Don't ask why the rest is outdated) It runs perfectly fine for me. on Low-Mid.
Alright cool ! Thanks guys. Gonna have fun modding :v:
Anyone going to the midnight release of New Vegas on October 19th.
110 days till fallout New Vegas release.
Well shit, I was handing in items to protector Casdin for 5.56 rounds and taking those to the ammo press and converting that to .44 rounds, But whenever I fast travel to fort independence a monster spawns right away and kills him, It's usually a deathclaw or Yao Gauai..
I've been working on Vault 101 ReOpened, but I'm on the fence about the schoolroom. I mean, what purpose would it serve? Any suggestions?

Maybe you can re-take the G.O.A.T or something? Or maybe a V2 of the GOAT but it would give you a different bonus or something...Is that even possible?
Well, the G.O.A.T is purely for deciding your future job in the Vault, and under Amata's reign, the entire place is meant to feel more free and non-oppresive. Under this feel, the G.O.A.T would be rendered defunct, because people would want to pursue their own chosen careers. All the students probably would've graduated, anyway, so the classroom would be empty.
I was going to empty the storage room in the 'Vault 101 Entrance' cell to make room for... certain protectors. Maybe the classroom could be reused as storage?
I don't remember if I have played the original fallout. I remember a game like that from when i was little. I Own Fallout3 and all the DLCs and I have New Vegas pre-ordered. I would love to play the original Fallouts.
They're really cheap on Good Old Games, you should pick them up when you get the chance.
I probably will when I get some more cash. I saw the prices. Well, atleast it won't kill my computer :D
Does anyone know if there's any mod or anything that improves the sounds of the new weapons in Fallout Wanderer's Edition? The new weapons in it are kinda cool, but the sounds are horrible.

Maybe you can go in once a week and have any skill you want raised by 5?
I'm on the Blood Ties quest and as soon as I quick travel to Arefu to tell Evan King about Ian coming back, an indicator tells me that both the Family and Arefu residents are hostile towards me and that I failed the quest. What did I do wrong? I killed the Family but I didn't get bad karma, so I have no idea what I did wrong.
Ok guys, I reinstalled Fallout 3, and i want to install this RTS mod.
What other mods do i need for it? Wich would you recommaned? Links would be very kind.

A Mirelurk or something probably killed Evan King or someone fell of the overpass. It's a common problem.

Nah, if you just waited long enough, you could level up every skill, and I believe if you try to level up with 100 in all skills, the game crashes.
It would feel overpowered.

You don't need any other mods for RTS. Get RTS: New Wave, it's awesome.
Here's a list of stuff I would need for Vault 101 ReOpened:
Rusty Vault 101 Cog Door
Rusty Vault 101 Slidy Door
Most importantly, I need a script to lock several doors in the Atrium, to be unlocked with a key carried by every Vault dweller. I would need it so that non-Vault dwellers couldn't enter restricted areas, like the Reactor level and the Personal Quarters.
The only problem is, I need a script to check the doors that are supposed to be locked during cell transition. If the door is unlocked, it would re-lock itself.
I have no idea how to script, and I want this script for realism and a challenge, so that if a (player) thief unlocked a door into restricted areas, the door would be re-locked when they leave the cell.
That's all for Vault 101 ReOpened.

Maybe going in once will give you a perk that raises the amount of points you get from a skill book by 1? Kind of like the perk comprehension. I can't really think of many things that a school could be used for. You could just have it there for looks or something.

If you do, know that fallout is a 32 bit program, and only accepts 2 gigs of RAM unless you use CFF explorer or something like it and make it take more.
I extend that to all of you. Download the file FO3 RAM BOOST at fallout nexus if you want to make the game use more ram and have better performance.

At the Vaul 101 reponed thing:
Maybe you could use the classroom to raise ONE S.P.E.C.I.A.L. ONCE

I'm the only user on this computer and I am an administrator. What do I do?

Do you have UAC turned on? If you do, turn it off.
Can never get FO3 to work on 7.
So fucking annoying.
More GECK scenery. This time, I have a go at rendering Navarro as it might look after some years of being abandoned.
When I first set foot within Camp Navarro's perimeter, it was disturbingly well preserved, brand new in spite of being so old. The vertibirds all performed like they had been put together yesterday and every Enclave trooper's suit was polished to a mirror shine. You could swear blind there were price tags on the plasma guns too. When I came back not a week later, everything was gone. As with everything they do, the Enclave had moved out with extreme prejudice. They even uprooted the chain link fence around the base and several aborted attempts had been made with cranes and forklifts to remove the massive dish pointing out to sea.
Not that they needed to worry about receiving any more messages from that direction - but that's another story for another time.
Holy crap, that looks great.
if only I could figure out how to use the fucking GECK :argh:
Watch the official tutorial videos for starters and definitely refer to the official GECK wiki while doing anything. Quite a few articles are glossaries explaining what certain functions mean and do. There are also some good user tutorials out there for the more complicated stuff like world spaces or custom radio stations.
Scenery building is easy and mostly bug free, but I'm limited by Fallout 3's assets and a lack of reference pictures. If you know where I can find (or make) high-res screenshots of entire areas from the first two games, it would make creating these a lot easier.
