Broken Steel. In addition to getting more of the main quest and a few new side quests, it raises the level cap to 30, adds new (and incredibly aggravating) high level enemies, weapons, locations and encounters to the Capital Wasteland.
Feral ghoul reavers, fuck them to hell they can take a million bullets and they still won't die
I need to get Broken Steel, but I'm just too damn cheap to buy anything.
I waited to finish the game before I got into any of the DLC.
I think a good order to buy/play the DLC in is:
Broken Steel--> The Pitt--> Point Lookout--> Operation Anchorage--> Mothership Zeta
Broken steel is good for raising the level cap and giving you new storyline quests to chip away at while you work on other stuff.
The Pitt is best to go to the earliest you can. Its the kind of scenario where you want to be as under geared as possible.
Point Lookout is really hit of miss for most people, I thought it was amazing. I personally enjoyed exploring it, and have been wearing the Grifter's Fit ever since. ;)
Operation Anchorage is pure combat. I would save that for last because in the end you get various kinds of loot rewards that make the rest of the game far too easy.
Mothership Zeta is kind of a "lol bonus level" that isn't meant to be taken too seriously. It's a good fun way to end your Fallout 3 experience before New Vegas comes out.
Speaking of New Vegas, I preordered it from steam. Not only does that package have the best looking pre-order gear (Very Mad Max-ish), but having binoculars from the start will be awesome. The only thing really interesting to me in the Collector's Edition is the deck of cards.
I'm really looking forward to this hardcore mode. Adding weight to stuff like ammo is a great way to enhance gameplay. Not using fast travel and only being able to carry the bare minimum supplies to get from place to place makes things so much more immersive and interesting. I'm not even going to raise my strength so that I am even further limited to carrying "X" amount of gear. Getting ambushed by raiders and having to improvise after exerting yourself and your resources is something I actually look forward to!

Sell everything you find, or kill the traders and steal their stuff, and sell it to shops in the cities.
The mobs are so tough that I need lots of Stimpaks.
Just got this email from BethSoft:

Subject: Fallout New Vegas Collector's Edition and Preorder Bonuses in the UK
Message Body:
Hello whoever reads this.
I was wondering what was happening with the Collector's Edition and Preorder bonuses for Fallout New Vegas in the UK. Currently, we can only get the normal edition (with no preorder bonuses) in shops and online stores like Amazon. We can buy the preorder bonus from Steam, but that is it. So, is there any release date for the preorder bonuses and the Collector's Edition over here in the UK?
Ted Polain.

I don't give a shit about pre-order incentives, they only give you an advantage at the beginning of the game. I want to play NV on hardcore and without any extra help. But I really want to get my hands on the Collector's Edition.

Point lookout is for people who have finished the previous DLCs, it is brutal as hell so you'd need all the equipment and levels you can get
Could anyone tell me where i can pick up all the patches for oblivion? I don't have shivering isles.
Can't wait for hardcore on nv

Reposting because I'm not sure what to do.

Brutal? I wouldn't go that far. I went there fairly early after finishing the Pitt and didn't have too many problems. The only noteworthy gear I had going in was the ghoul mask, which obviously made certain areas much easier, but I wouldn't say you need tons of "equipment and levels" for any of the DLCs in this game. Proper scavenging will supply you with what you need to survive Point Lookout. If I had gone there with all the gear I got from Operation Anchorage, the other DLCs would have been too easy. I'd save that stuff (like the Chinese Stealth Suit) for when you are simply going through the wasteland checking out all the stuff and side quests you missed along the way.
If you want genuinely brutal, hardcore mode in New Vegas should deliver. I just hope that the gambling in the casinos doesn't make it too easy to win enough caps to buy yourself out of any troubles.
So whose gonna make that single essential NPC in New Vegas nonessential on your first playthrough and then go and hunt and kill him.

I'd only get it for the cards or the graphic novel. Either way, I'm sure you can just buy them on ebay later for far less.

That's probably because I went to point lookout before doing anything else, probably more my fault the point lookouts
I just want the deck of cards. That's it. I'll probably have to get it off ebay.

I want the art book and making of DVD as well but I guess I can just view them online, hell the making of DVD for fallout 3 is on youtube.
Also which bozar is better, the one in this mod

Eh the In-game items by preorder will just become free or via a mod.

The pre-order bonus doesn't really matter to me, i'm just trying to debate whether to pre-order for convenience or for the collector's edition.
No, Fallout 3 does not interface with any multiplayer capabilities, so mod the fuck out of it as much as you want.
I really need a mod for [sp]punching butch in my birthday until knocking him up/ gib him in little pieces[/sp]
The mobs are so tough that I need lots of Stimpaks.
Get good in V.A.T.S. and sneaking. I always take the VATS-Chance-increasing perks as soon as they're available. And scrounge for ammo.
I just got an issue of PC gamer that has a preview on New Vegas, nothing new is included in it though.
So I should just forget about getting the collector's edition?
Go to amazon or ebay and get it there? it is not good with games on steam because you cant get a refund and you lose everything if you cannot get your account back.

You do know that New Vegas is going to require steam right?
Is New vegas going to have Games for Windows Live?
Also, here I can't find any pre-orders for New Vegas, only on steam but it's too expensive because of our currency is shit compared to euro
[editline]05:45PM[/editline]
And by the way, it's going to have the same sys req. that FO3 had? I hope so.
