I have the exact same oppinion as you.
If I cared enough to play the first 2 when they were "in their prime" I would've probably preferred them. I had never heard of Fallout until 3 came out.
I think New Vegas will be the real Fallout 3 since it picks up where the others dropped-off. Altough I liked Fallout 3, I consider it a "spin-off", and the fact that New Vegas looks and is the same as Fallout 3(except good writing, etc...) isn't very plesant.
Other than that, looking forward for hardcore mode from day one, like it should have been since Fallout 1.

Why are people saying that FO3 had bad graphics? The only thing I find wrong with the graphics are the animations, (which suck hideously) but otherwise I think they're pretty fantastic, and the game runs well. Well, it sometimes crashes, but the framerate's fine.
My game hates me. It crashes when I try to leave Rivet City. :frown:

I was in a talon company camp and whenever I tried to open a container i crashed
then every time i loaded my save i crashed
and then i crashed looking at the wall

Well your lucky that you can fix it. I can't even play fallout 3, it doesn't work on my good computer and on my old computer it lags like hell. I have to wait until I get my new computer when school ends to play fallout 3 again.
Also one last thing how the hell do i get in the Presidental Metro? I mean i have to turn power on or find some key..But where i went everywhere in that Capital Building

I'm still not entirely sure why people complain about that.
No one walks diagonally, which is why the animation is shitty. People turn and face the direction they want to go.

I like how in New Vegas some of the unique guns actually look different, rather than just have different stats.

The only gamebreaker in Fo3 is the fact that Harold is definitively put out of the games canon. either he stays there, happy or depressed or you rip out his heart or burn him in righteous fire (and get fucking freaked out by the most bonechilling scream of agony at the middle of the night. OH SHIT!). The non-canon bullshit discussion and talks of inconsistencies are trivial in comparison.
