Have you been to the Brotherhood yet?
But they even killed Dashwood! :saddowns:
You live and you learn. Dashwood on the otherhand....
At first I really wasn't sure about picking this up. It looked too similar to fallout 3. But now reading about more of the features, the reputation systems, etc. I'm starting to get hyped for this.
I hope that there's a mod to increase the number of people in New Vegas though. Even if its post-apocalypse, I'd like to see bustling streets and full casinos. Right now it looks kind of empty.

I like how the moderators and higher ups at nma are usually the most hostile towards change.

If you're going to even remotely stand a chance further down in Mariposa, you're either going to need Power Armor or possibly Combat Armor, as well as you might want to find the Plasma Rifle, assuming you are proficient with Laser Weapons. Granted, it kind of becomes way to easy when you get Hardened Power Armor and a Turbo Plasma Rifle, so I would suggest not getting those if you still want a challenge in the end. As for what weapon to get, it depends on your skills, really.
For Small Guns I would go with the .223 Pistol or the Combat shotgun, though the combat shotgun is rare or hard to get and the .223 requires you to do a quest.
For Big Guns it's either the Flamer or the Rocket Launcher as the minigun is rather terrible, though I don't know much about the Flamer or Rocket Launcher, so I'm no help there.
For Energy Weapons either the Alien Blaster if you're lucky enough to find one(Special encounter while traveling) or the Plasma Rifle. You'll eventually see some Plasma Rifles in Mariposa along with Rocket Launchers.
For Melee either the Ripper of Super Sledge, though I don't know much about them as I never do melee characters. I believe you can find a Super Sledge in a chest at the top of the Cathedral.
But they even killed Dashwood! :saddowns:
I once killed tenpenny and all the guards for the fuck of it, and Dashwood kept attacking. I had good armor so I just kept shooting the gun out of his hand and he kept picking it up.
Never killed him.

I killed Dashwood with a knife and stole all his goods the first time i went to the Tenpenny tower.
Hey, cool, now I hate NMA more than I did before.
They should all go die in a fire. Ungrateful fucking cunts.

You monster. :argh:
All you have to do is go to Rockopolis and find the [sp]ghoul's body[/sp] and he gives you it all for free.
I just got Fallout 3: GOTY edition. Best RPG I've ever played.

You should really start playing more great RPGs.
You should really start playing more great RPGs.
Why are you in this thread if you don't even like Fallout?
I like how the moderators and higher ups at nma are usually the most hostile towards change.
I like how any time someone prefers an older version people jump on the "YOU CAN'T ACCEPT CHANGE!!!" bandwagon. A lot of us at NMA don't care that the game changed, we care about HOW it was changed... It went from a full blown RPG to a casual FPS with hardly any RPG at all, the only thing that made a clear line between what kind of character you were was karma and perks and the only useful stats were lockpick, science, repair and speech. Everything else is just garbage and has no real use outside of VATS. Not to mention the story, which was and is a big part of FO1/2 is mostly just something that Bethesda pushed aside for their own fucked up story.
It's not that most of us hate FO3, it's that we hate it as a Fallout game because Bethesda did some stupid shit and it might as well be Oblivion with guns(Even if that's harsh, it's sort of true.)

Haha oh god the turbo plasma rifle
99% to hit eyes from any range, enemy always dies in one hit and melts

Then you either haven't played a lot of RPGs, or have a very peculiar taste.
;23851157']Why are you in this thread if you don't even like Fallout?
Fallout 3 is hardly the best RPG in the world. It's more of an action game anyway.
Haha oh god the turbo plasma rifle

Turbo Plasma Rifle and Hardened Power Armor made the game absolutely trivial to play... But it was fun to do the Raider rescue quest(Fighting the guy) with power armor, cause he couldn't hit me and my unarmed skill was like 35. Took me 10 minutes to knock that guy out. :P
;23851157']Why are you in this thread if you don't even like Fallout?
Who the hell said I didn't like Fallout? It's pretty much my favorite franchise. What I meant is that while FO3 is a great game it certainly isn't the best RPG ever, and that he should really start playing more RPGs.
Well it was more of an RPG then Oblivion was, at least you could talk to people, not attempt to ask people about rumors like a monosyllabic retard
I did irwins quest, and I got two amazing weapons,i am gonna get another companion, complete brotherhood quest, and then move in to kill some fucking mutants

Classic Hero Syndrome. Guns before brains. as already stated, there are many RPG's that does it better than FO3.
The elder scrolls series beats it in its own genre.
as for the old ones. however fantastic, they are beaten silly by most Bioware titles. In most opinions. not to mention the never ending bugs the whole series suffer from unless you are aware of the mods that fixes what the developers didn't care shit to fix. so forth and so on. you know the drill.
"does it have to be either love or hate?" - Horny guy groping horny girl.
But they even killed Dashwood! :saddowns:
FUCK. I was going to find argyle in Rockopolis and report back to Dashwood. God damn it. Doesn't Herbert give you a reward for doing so?
I find it hard to believe a couple ghouls killed Daring.

Nice assumption there. No where in my post did I say "YOU CAN'T ACCEPT CHANGE!!!" I said that you were hostile to change. Accept =/= hostile. I can see the forum accepts it since there's a fallout 3 subsection there. People discuss pros and cons of the game. But that doesn't mean you like it. As seen from your post its a valid truth that you and many at the nma forum don't like the direction the fallout games are going in. Whether the change is a good or bad thing is all a matter of opinion.
I actually think fallout 3 is my favorite RPG but not because of how well it did the actual RPG elements but because I had the most fun with it.
I actually think fallout 3 is my favorite RPG but not because of how well it did the actual RPG elements but because I had the most fun with it.
As others have said, you need to play more RPGs...
People have grown complacent with games. RPGs of yesteryear a no longer fun in the eyes of most of the gaming community.
What we know and what they know as RPG have changed.
As others have said, you need to play more RPGs...
I've played plenty or RPG's but I've had the most fun with fallout 3.
I liked Fallout 3 too, and I could barely even run it.
As others have said, you need to play more RPGs...
I've played a good amount of RPGs (including lesser-known ones such as Nox, Titan Quest, and Loki), and I have to say that Fallout 3 is a very good RPG. It is definitely one of the best First Person RPGs I have ever played.
Who did you guys side with in the pitt? I just sided with ashur because
: When i helped the slaves out it felt like i was just used
: The slaves kept telling me to go away after all what i done for them
: I didn't want to kidnap a baby
: Ashur looks as though he has a better chance of getting a cure rather than Wernher because of his scientific wife.
: Eventually ashur wants to get rid of slavery and he has a good philosophy on how he wants to build a city
: Wernher is a dumbass for letting trogs overrun haven/uptown
It's cool how they both have their good and bad things and it's not like only one route is good and the other is bad.
Unfortunately there are only like 2, three if you count shooting up everyone, choices in the end.
Just finished Tranquility Lane. First I slaughtered everyone like I was told, and then when the door materialized, I triggered the Failsafe. Everyone respawned and then got killed by Chinese guys, Betty was mad, and I ended up with positive karma. Go figure.
