Hoe exactly did they butcher the canon? The only canon change i can think of is how the geck operated. Anyway I'm really excited for new vegas, right now I'm playing through fallout 2 (got it from gog.com). Also I'm waiting to get a better computer because it doesn't run on my computer I'm using right now, it runs on my old one but it lags like hell.
Brotherhood of Steel are NOT white knights.
Brotherhood of Steel are NOT white knights.
They certainly weren't evil.
Brotherhood of Steel are NOT white knights.
They established that only the capital wasteland brotherhood was like that.
Just finished Tranquility Lane. First I slaughtered everyone like I was told, and then when the door materialized, I triggered the Failsafe. Everyone respawned and then got killed by Chinese guys, Betty was mad, and I ended up with positive karma. Go figure.
When you stab them, you're causing them pain but I think it's implied that you don't permanently kill them. (Braun can bring them back whenever he wants to be a sadistic bastard again) The failsafe is the only thing that actually kills them.
I was about to ask how i get DogMeat to come to me and low and behold there he is scaring the shit about me
It seems not a lot of people like the BOS on this thread. Why don't you like them ? lol
It seems not a lot of people like the BOS on this thread. Why don't you like them ? lol
The Capital Wasteland BoS follows a different set of rules than the original BoS from California. In fallout 1 and 2, the Brotherhood of Steel was pretty much "Fuck you unless you have advanced technology." They were shady, kept to themselves, and weren't afraid to put a few bullets through a few heads. They're only prupose was to acquire the most advanced and powerful technologies available. Period. The Fallout 3 Brotherhood of Steel doesn't care as much about technology, but more about protecting the Capital Wasteland from being overrun by Super Mutants. So, they're much nicer, open, and friendly. The Brotherhood Outcasts in Fallout 3 are a better representation of the originals than the actual Brotherhood of Steel. A lot of people dislike the new friendly Brotherhood of Steel because they're less shady and badass than their predecessors.
I like how any time someone prefers an older version people jump on the "YOU CAN'T ACCEPT CHANGE!!!" bandwagon. A lot of us at NMA don't care that the game changed, we care about HOW it was changed... It went from a full blown RPG to a casual FPS with hardly any RPG at all, the only thing that made a clear line between what kind of character you were was karma and perks and the only useful stats were lockpick, science, repair and speech. Everything else is just garbage and has no real use outside of VATS. Not to mention the story, which was and is a big part of FO1/2 is mostly just something that Bethesda pushed aside for their own fucked up story. It's not that most of us hate FO3, it's that we hate it as a Fallout game because Bethesda did some stupid shit and it might as well be Oblivion with guns(Even if that's harsh, it's sort of true.)
I like to disagree. Fallout 3 may be shit, but it was fun. It was more of a test actually, and New vegas is going to be so much better. And people will still whine.
I am getting bored of Fallout 3 now, I got to Point Lookout and lost any motivation to play.... T___T
I like to disagree. Fallout 3 may be shit, but it was fun. It was more of a test actually, and New vegas is going to be so much better. And people will still whine.
You don't read very well, do you?
I like to disagree. Fallout 3 may be shit, but it was fun. It was more of a test actually, and New vegas is going to be so much better. And people will still whine.
First of all, everyone whines about everything. If you ever develop a game and/or sequels, know you can't please anyone. With that said he was mainly writing about how I jumped on the bandwagon that "NMA doesn't accept change." I would write a statement about how that's not true but I already did. [editline]08:13AM[/editline]
You don't read very well, do you?
It seems he was responding to the second half of your post in which you go into detail about parts of Fallout 3 you didn't like, so his response is reasonable in that context. Also he would have to have at least skimmed the second half, which would mean he can read, therwise how could he know what to write about.
Who did you guys side with in the pitt? I just sided with ashur because : When i helped the slaves out it felt like i was just used : The slaves kept telling me to go away after all what i done for them : I didn't want to kidnap a baby : Ashur looks as though he has a better chance of getting a cure rather than Wernher because of his scientific wife. : Eventually ashur wants to get rid of slavery and he has a good philosophy on how he wants to build a city : Wernher is a dumbass for letting trogs overrun haven/uptown It's cool how they both have their good and bad things and it's not like only one route is good and the other is bad.
I sided with the slaves. Just like at Tenpenny towers I regretted it. I thought stealing the baby was a desperate but ultimately he necessary evil for the good of the people, but the fucking slaves are worse.
Classic Hero Syndrome. Guns before brains. as already stated, there are many RPG's that does it better than FO3. The elder scrolls series beats it in its own genre.
Off topic, but your avatar has made me go and play some abe... so much win

Are there Enclave soldiers in New Vegas? Considering the eyebots.
Are there Enclave soldiers in New Vegas? Considering the eyebots.
Unlikely. They were probably just repurposed by local robotic-make-things-do-other-stuff-people.
Are there Enclave soldiers in New Vegas? Considering the eyebots.
The Enclave were in Fallout 2, so I don' see why remnants couldn't have found their way to New Vegas. Though of what we've seen so far, it seems like it was just there for effect and meant nothing.
I sided with the slaves. Just like at Tenpenny towers I regretted it. I thought stealing the baby was a desperate but ultimately he necessary evil for the good of the people, but the fucking slaves are worse.
How exactly? They don't brutally abuse eachother, and they take care of the child just fine. Ashur had poor control over his raiders, and had most definitely failed to imprint his ideals into them, so they just used force and slavery. He was content to sit up in his ivory tower deluding himself and alot of players into thinking what he was doing was right and necessary.
When you try to please everyone, you can only please no one.
Tell that to Obama
Tell that to Obama
That's actually what I was thinking as I typed that sentence.
How exactly? They don't brutally abuse eachother, and they take care of the child just fine. As you said, his raiders never saw the same light, and referred to them as slaves, not workers. Had Ashur found a cure, I have no doubt there'd have been violence and anarchy anyway since the Pitt Raiders are nothing but a bunch of bitches.

He died very slowly, and then I brought it back to Ashur.
Nice assumption there. No where in my post did I say "YOU CAN'T ACCEPT CHANGE!!!" I said that you were hostile to change. Accept =/= hostile. I can see the forum accepts it since there's a fallout 3 subsection there. People discuss pros and cons of the game. But that doesn't mean you like it. As seen from your post its a valid truth that you and many at the nma forum don't like the direction the fallout games are going in. Whether the change is a good or bad thing is all a matter of opinion.
which has very little to do with the discussion regarding them behaving like cunts about the game and any mention of it. They're Elitists and much of that is not about the game being newer but about the changes made in lore and gameplay. You and he are derailing a discussion towards a meaningless fistfight. NMA reminds me of Bioware Boards constant hating on shooters. Refreshingly as it is, it gets annoying when a whole RPG forum descends into "FUCK HL2 and MW2" hatewagons. It's pathetic and that's when you know that you don't belong there. As NMA believe about FO3, BB believe themselves intellectually supperior because they took a cambridge course from their basement and that they never "enjoyed" a shooter. i say they need to grow the fuck up and stop patronizing the rest of the gaming universe since it's very immature. Am i wrong in concluding that this is the same behavior that NMA lays forward? it's what i observed.
Ok, Fort Constantine launch is probably one of the coolest scenes in the games. But does anyone else find it hilarious, that there could be some colonies of survivors in China, who think that the apocalypse is over, but suddenly get hit by a nuke?
"Well, its been 200 years, I think its safe to come ou-"
