Goddamnit I want to play New Vegas now.
Why do people say Fallout 2 is awesome? I think it's a boring piece of shit.
That's because all that COD you played has given you the attention span of a goldfish. The game isn't so much about the gameplay, it's the story and the interactions you have with this dead world. At least the gameplay actually requires you to think and plan what you're going to do, rather than hitting V and letting the game play itself for you.
At least the gameplay actually requires you to think and plan what you're going to do, rather than hitting V and letting the game play itself for you.
Can people not stop complaining how fallout 3 had different gameplay?
its not because the gameplay was different, its because it was awful.
its not because the gameplay was different, its because it was awful.
:fuckoff: Your oppinion isn't fact.
No shit.
I'm just tired of seeing peeple bash fallout 3, I love fallout 3 but has been getting alot of hate just because it bears the name fallout.
its not because the gameplay was different, its because it was awful.
It's "fans" like you that are the dumbfucks in this discussion. The old Fallouts are classic, anyone would love a game in that vein again. but Fallout 3 is also great. it's brought fallout to newer heights of popularity. if you think it requires no thinking, get the fuck of Very Easy and start trying to get through a corridor with 2 Super Mutant Overlords and 5 more waiting in a crowd in the next room to charge in. aaaanyway. stop picking on it, no one likes it, it's really annoying listening to selfproclaimed autist Fallout Vets rant on and on about how this Fallout is wrong. it's a great game, it sold something like 4 mill units, that's more than the good old ones combined. *vet chooses the "they're COD freaks" card* *bomimo uses the "the aiming was too bulshit for realtime playing* *enemy vet starts flaming* Then again, we need more Fallout 1-2 content in here. did yall know some mod team has got the ruleset going on UE3? Isometric and with all the bling UI of the good old 90s
Amount sold means shit. The gaming market was a lot smaller back then. Furthermore; Fallout 3,2,and 1 are great games, but you can't tell me F3 was difficult. Even on the hardest difficulty it was a cakewalk; even if you only used VATS.
I like both games. Old ones for being deep, new one for being more action-based - after all, we always wanted to chainsaw the face off a centaur, right? Different games, and yet both are fun.
Fallout 3 was, by far, the easiest of the fallout games. Simplified for 10 year old console gamers. Fallout 1 & 2 are real games, where you had to actually think about what you were gonna do. But fallout 3 was fun, too. Wasn't an RPG like they say, though. It was a FPS where you could pause time and select where you'd want a computer to shoot at a limb for you. Way to easy, it got boring.
I completely agree. The only thing that made Fallout 3 replayable were the mods.
Methinks FO3 would have been so much easier if it'd been in the same style as the other two. I mean, if you didn't change the story or any of it, just changed the looks to that of the originals, it'd be instantly better.

Also I have a question to the people who say fallout 3 wasn't an RPG, what do you think about the changes they're introducing in New Vegas?
The thing is, F3 didn't feel like an RPG because it didn't feel like you were playing a role in that world (Story Wise). At least compared to the other Fallouts where it felt like you were making big changes to the world. Hell, it even showed you how your actions impacted the world after you beat it.
I wish Van Buren would get finished. I'd love to play the whole game.
The thing that killed FO3 for me was the fact that there was only one route to most destinations in the cities. I'd fight through hordes only to get to a dead end not marked on the map.

Where in Vegas they seem to have made it like the old one where you can do whatever the fuck you want and still get to the end of the game.

That was definitely the highlight of the originals.

The feel of impact hasn't disappeared mate, it's been shifted to emphasize direct consequence instead of good ol' Perlman telling you afterwards. people, open your eyes. it's a damn fine game and a good Action-RPG. and i dare say, it's not very accessible for COD freaks since the shooter element is pure turd. i even play pure VATS, motly due to the oldies though. New Vegas will win you over, the hardcore mode will have all the difficulty you want. but to me, FO1 and 2 were both cakewalks at any difficulty. they're not brainshatteringly hard man. MONSTER Deja VU!
As i read about the fallout series I kept on thinking of warhammer. Fallout and Warhammer are quite similer in one regard. Both series will probably never end allowing the fans to imagine the different ways it will end and thats what i love about the series.
Warhammer's going towards the death of the Emperor, the Throne's failing :ohdear: Argh don't have anywhere to buy NV CE from in Europe :hurr:

At least, that's the way i think it feels.
As I recall, it was going somewhere with the plot of humanity getting back on its feet and making something resembling civilisation - for better or for worse. Sure, for gameplay purposes, it would be great if everyone never got further than drinking out of toilets or living in giant shipwrecks. But that kind of existence has to stop some day and something with more permanence and structure has to replace it.

It's not realistic, it's taking to long just to get themselves together. New Vegas sounds like it's gonne be a bit more realistic with "kind of" states. the NCR and Caecars legion are mini states. i therefore stand by my word, it will never have an end as such and it will never evolve beyond the known formula.

Even after several years, we'd have come up with some kind of reformation plan. Whether it be locally or nationally.

Also does anyone know if the collectors edition of new vegas is available for pre order on amazon?

Will I be able to preorder the CE Fallout: New Vegas from Gamestop/EB Games?
According to the gamestop site, yes.
