I don't see why you guys are so hyped for New Vegas, It's just a rehashed fallout 3 with a few bells and whistles. It'll feel the same in the end.
You are right...i mean, they have only overhauled the chat system, reputations, voice acting, consequences, weapon mods, crafting, added additional game mechanics, added gambling, multiple currencies, movie references, hardcore mode, traditional fallout humour, Nightkin, remote explosives.
Obsidian have done a lot to the game. Probably so much so that you won't have time to complain about the animations that the engine (which they have to use and probably don't have any rights to extensively modify) contains.

All of those points stand except the voice acting. Sure, they hired a bunch of big-name voice actors, so what? I'd rather have the wastelanders have more varying voices than three male and three female variants like in Fallout 3.
Which faction do you guys plan on joining in Fallout: New Vegas?
I plan on joining the NCR, mainly because of their badass armor (not to mention the fact established post Apoc governments are rare so that makes them even cooler).
Same as Fallout 3.
Are you sure about that? Is it official or just a guess? I need to know so I don't buy a game I can't play, even if it can run it might run pretty bad though.

So they just added in what Fallout 3 left out, Due to the fact that Bethesda couldn't grasp the concept of Fallout.
I'm really going to miss the tight urban areas of DC, it was awesome. Especially seeing all the landmarks.

Pretty much.
I've come to the realization after 60+ hours of Fallout 3 game play that [sp]it has bad voice acting besides the character's dad[/sp]
Fallout 3 doesn't have bad voiceacting, although it doesn't have enough voice variation.

Have you ever heard Paladin Tristan speak? He sounds like a horse.

Okay that's one npc.
Fallout 3 has some really terrible Voice Acting, hell, I wasn't even that impressed with Liam Neeson, he sounded like he didn't give a damn.
Malcolm McDowell's awesome voice made up for it thought.

So I dealt with Andale like a boss.
Also, steal from cannibals, get bad karma. What.

Whoever has the coolest gear. Probably NCR, assuming they're the guys on the cover. Whoever they are.

You don't know what the NCR is?
You don't know what the NCR is?
I know who they are, but I don't know what they look like in New Vegas.
Any tips on beating Super Mutant Behemoths? I'm using FOW3 and MMM.
I'm trying to take out a Mutant camp guarded by a Behemoth, but Fat Man nukes won't even scratch this guy, and though I MIGHT stand a chance at long range 1 vs. 1, he has like 10 gunners with him at all times.

Stealing is bad no matter the justification, according to the most standard code of morals.
I disagree, but I don't make the rules.
Oh man.. If only this game had rape, orphans, and crackheads. It might just be my Hellmoo fix.
I know who they are, but I don't know what they look like in New Vegas.
It's basically elements of the NCR army and NCR rangers that got cut off from the rest of the republic, and are thusly pretty much unoccupied with the war between the Brotherhood of Steel.
I just started the original Fallout (after having bought it on Steam almost a year ago along with 2 and Tactics). it's kind of a Quicksand Box, really. there's a lot of stuff one can do, it can really stump a person who's trying to figure out exactly what they should do next. so right now I'm just going to see how much I can do in Shady Sands before going to Vault 15. I did a lot of stuff, but then the game crashed and now I'm back to the Radscorpion cave with Ian.
I seem to get some weird graphics glitches with it, though. probably because it's an old game playing on a new computer. might have to set compatibility mode to fix it.

Going to have to hear each out. NCR sounds cool but they seem more of the good guys. I tend to play the evil dick in games so we'll see. Also I'd like to see if you can side with the citizens since I read they kinda have their own agenda from Caesars Legion and NCR.
I plan to buy FO1, FO2, FOT. Anyways, I enjoyed Fallout 3 even though it froze a lot. But, I do not care to play Fallout Brotherhood of Steel because it looks shitty :v:
Call me mungo, big, or smelly even once more and- Alright, thats it :downs:

Fucks sake, i always get ninja'd. -snip-
Really? I don't really think the voice acting is that bad.
Fallout 3 has brilliant voice acting and variation.
Compared to oblivion's 4 people.
[editline]12:39AM[/editline]
When I first got out of the vault 101 with all my mods and stuff I got like 4fps on my 4870. I thought "Oh fucking shit I shouldn't have gotten the higher res texture pack. God damn it."
Turns out I had Transparency AA on, which effectively doubles the AA in the game. ONTOP of the transparency multisample in the game. I turned it off, and my game went from 4fps to literally, 76fps. I almost blew a load.

Apparently they have gone to town for voice acting. Remember, this is the original black isle crew trying to make the game they always wanted to, not bethesda trying to make the game as cheaply as they can.
Yippie-yay, there'll be no weddin' bells for today...
I just love that gasmask/trenchcoat combo guy they have for the New Vegas promotional material. I will do ANYTHING for that suit in-game, even if it turns out to be the worst armor in the game. it just looks too cool.
