I doubt it'll be as in-depth as Alpha Protocol.
how in-depth was Alpha Protocol compared to the original Fallouts? because chances are Obsidian will try to get the depth about as close to the original two games as possible.

I can't really say.
Well we can always hope that it'll be close at least in-depth than fallout 3 was.
If it's less, then it's absolute shit. Fallout 3 didn't do it very good.
Recently got the Fallout trilogy pack and got Fallout 1 running. Does anyone know how to get children back into the game? I already tried this:

But it didn't work. So I may have to reinstall to get rid of the patch. Does anyone know a patch or something the put kids back in?

I own Alpha Protocol and although I've only played a few hours pretty much everything I've done has affected the story in some way.

Wait did I misunderstand by what you guys meant by in depth? We're you refering to things like character developement?

I'm going to try to buy the trilogy pack this weekend :smug:
Also, does anyone know if you can have the gas mask and trenchcoat ingame? I really want it.
The only time it's ever been seen in-game was during the E3 trailer and it was being worn by the player (there's a pip-boy glove on the left hand).
What I want to know is whether or not the helmet and armour can be worn separately.
Some guy told me there was going to be some type of add on called Ronto where it takes place in Toronto (obviously)
does any one else think that would be cool
I do but that's probably because i live like 20 minutes away from it
Some people seem to think that FO:NV is being developed by Bethesda.
Does the Restoration Project work on the steam version of fallout 2 and if it works do I have to start a new game?
Zeta gives you ridiculously overpowered guns
The MPLX Novasurge has become my main gun after playing Zeta. Too bad it seems to wear down fast.

It's the armor of the NCR rangers. So either stalk a ranger in the wasteland until he gets killed, or murder one and take his.
It might be a Ranger wearing that armour, but it isn't their usual getup. This is.

Still don't see the appeal. Also. Hammer Of Dawn rip off? 1:30
Mmm... More boxes to store Bethesda's lack of talent in.

I seriously thought it was the Brotherhood's armor. Also, I could just join NCR?
I seriously thought it was the Brotherhood's armor. Also, I could just join NCR?
To get the armor its easier to just follow a patrol around until they get killed.

how would you know that? the game's not even out...
Hope they make it so you cant loot armor, like in Fallout 1 and 2.

Man I'm so glad bethesdas saved fallout from those old crappy turn based games, i hope these new guys obsidian don't mess up with this game so then the franchise can be turned over to the true masters of fallout, bethesda.

You dropped your trollface.

They should handle it logically.
Regular armour - you can loot from anyone of the same sex
Power armour - moderate science skill to loot from friendlies, high science skill to loot from enemies
Radiation suits - can loot from anyone

yeah, power armor doesn't seem like the kind of thing you can just "take off" of a dead body...
How does one get out of the power armor anyways?

same as you would wear any kind of medieval armor, it's all in parts.
Am I really missing out on Fallout 1/2/the expansions? I've been browsing this thread and noticed Fallout 3 isn't technically the third game in the series, that'd be new Vegas...
How were the other games in terms of play style? Were they really that different?
Yes, they were.

from what I've gathered while playing Fallout 1, yes. but I like the difference. I can't explain why, but I like how different the original Fallout games were to 3.

Every conversation you had with someone affected what they thought of you. Every decision you made had an effect on the game. For example, if you killed one of the terrorists, some people might like you for it, but you would lose intel opportunities.
Even things like being spotted could affect the future in some way.
Fallout 1 and 2 are certainly games that should be played. Some people don't like the turn based combat system, but if you set up your char right, you will be nailing most enemies in the first turn anyway (6 shots per turn with the gauss pistol which leaves holes in everyone). Unless there is a freak accident of course. Get the pariah dog and you end up with 1 luck. Drop your ammo when reloading can be an utter pain too.
I like the auto save mod thing, but I have to turn down the interval t like 300 seconds because my game is so random. It will just lock up while I'm in small area's looting mostly. I have to go to task manager, and close it.
The Vault just released a preview of Fallout New Vegas

my favorite thing is the return of The Khans
