Not trying to rant here but you need to get the licence BEFORE kickstarter
there was a tread in the UDK Forums a bit ago about kickstarter and the UDK licence and according to what i read you need to get the licence before any sort of income even if it would be used to just fund the game or buy it
Frankly i just saw this post, which is just odd they added it overnight anyhow thanks we'll look into it
"Can Kickstarter or other crowd funding be used to fund games made with UDK? Is a license required?
Yes, crowd funding is perfectly acceptable with UDK games; however, a $99 commercial UDK license is required and all revenue earned through the crowd funding is subject to the standard UDK royalty."
. And as for Mudbox and Zbrush they both have their distinctive cons and pros. People on the team use the software they are comfortable with. The fund is simply the first one we'll be doing and we'll do another and give different rewards then. As for the thank yous its simple you aren't buying the rewards you are supporting a game that interests you the rewards are just there to say thank you.
