It really depends on what Valve does at this point.
1.) These cards are limited and are the only way to unlock the current emotes/backgrounds. In this case Valve would release new sets of cards that unlock new emotes/backgrounds. As more people get into the beta and then as the feature launches to the public they would probably be reduced to pennies each, but then could possibly slowly rise in price again as time goes on.
2.) These cards are limited but future sets will allow you to unlock the current emotes/backgrounds anyway. This would probably mean the cards will only go down in value, as would the emotes/backgrounds. Maybe if new sets unlocked new badges would the price of old cards rise again as time went on, but I kinda doubt it.
3.) They introduce some sort of drop resetting, which would make everything go down to pennies as time went on.
Personally I feel like #2 is the most likely. At any rate, prices will only go down from here regardless of what happens. Maybe if you wait like a year, and if #1 happens will you be able to sell them for more than you currently can.

I believe people found badges for these games, which would indicate cards coming in the near future. When I said future sets I meant for the same games though. All the current cards say, "Series 1". So a series 2 could potentially drop old emotes/backgrounds+new ones, or they could only drop new ones.
