New Dashboard is out! - Games

I think the new update is pretty good. Despite my initial panic when I first installed it, it's actually not bad. However it could still use some optimization. My PS3's XMB is so much smoother than the Xbox Dashboard ever was.

This happens every time they change the UI, people go oh god this is so gay. FFFFU Then a week later no one gives a shit and when the next UI update comes out they do the same thing Wash-rinse-repeat.

The new logo when the console is turned on is pretty good. Otherwise the rest of it looks kinda crappy. I see what they were trying to do, but it just doesn't work for me.

The one thing I liked about Xbox was how the Dashboard was so much better than the PS3's. This new one looks like fucking shit. They took all the nice effects and made it boxy and white, so it blinds you. Seriously they went backwards on this. I think I might just get a PS3 and sell my Xbox's now. It just stripped all the nice 3dish effects from the old dashboard and dumped white in the empty box.

The Xbox's Dashboards were always clunky and slow and had useless transitions that waste everyones time. I own both PS3 and 360 so I'm not a fanboy, I just have a personal opinion that XMB beats Dashboard, no matter what version dashboard it is. They really need to work on optimization.

And it's not about the graphics its about taking something good away and making it worse. It would be like FORCING you to update windows 7 with a windows 95 theme. This is essentially what they did on Xbox Live. Whatever, anyways........this thread is not about me. Stay on topic.
