You're not a true BF fan if you've never seen these, fact.

And I never had any bugs while playing on the gamebryo engine
How's that Steam Overlay doin' for ya?
I use the steam overlay and it's just fine for me. The only time steam overlay has ever given me a problem is when I was using it in BF2 (but I think it actually ended up being something else).

Actually not that bad!, thanks for asking.
Fuck, I really wanted the drag feature :sigh:

BF2 is mostly what people have trouble with PB in. The Steam overlay is seen as a hack by that extremely outdated version running there it seems.
Man I just don't get it.
Personally I've never had any persisting or teething issues with PB.
Why are you guys so unlucky?
BF2 - punkbuster kicks me because of pnkbstra/pnkbrstb errors. I manually install punkbuster and it works fine. A little annoying, but at least the solution was relatively easy.
BF2142 - same thing.
CoD: WaW - Get kicked from games because of various punkbuster errors. Fixed most by turning off steam overlay in it.
BF: Heroes - Still get kicked somehow
BFBC2: Get various punkbuster errors relating to directx. Attempt to turn off steam overlay, doesn't work, manually reinstall punkbuster, doesn't work. Reinstall physx and directx, doesn't work. Reinstall the game, doesn't work. Play on non-punkbuster servers, still get kicked. Try to fix it for hours and get nothing. I finally figured out it was because I have two graphics cards in my computer so it read directx on both of them and for whatever retarded reason thought I was cheating. Turned out people had had that problem since BFBC2 was released on the PC. Evenbalance didn't care and said it was nvidia's fault. Nvidia thought that it was Evenbalance's problem for not fixing it. Wait for months for a fix and one finally comes, not from punkbuster, but from Nvidia.
Fuck punkbuster. I will never buy another game with punkbuster in it.

Well
BF2 - No issues other than the once-a-month kick for some bullshit reason, not enough to cause any annoyance.
BF2142 - Had a major issue until I updated PB manually, after that zero issues.
BFBC2 - None other than the occasional (RAAAAAARRREEEEE) kick.
Boy what the shit

Punkbuster is a terrible Anti-cheat that gives different errors to everyone it seems. I get kicked from almost any PB game with the steam overlay or my GPU monitor running. Neither are cheats, both hook into the game the exact same way as XFire, yet they causes kicks and XFire doesn't.
Basically it's terrible.
If BF3 has pb I will never buy another battlefield again.
[sp]just kidding I'll still get it[/sp]
Why not put drag in MP. :frown:
Why not put drag in MP. :frown:
I wouldn't see it being used. It'd just be a feature that is cool but serves no purpose.
I wouldn't see it being used. It'd just be a feature that is cool but serves no purpose.
Well I'd drag my friends out into the middle of the field.
[editline]19th April 2011[/editline]
Or outside the map
[editline]19th April 2011[/editline]
Or the enemy's spawn
[editline]19th April 2011[/editline]
Oh my the possibilites are endless!
I wouldn't see it being used. It'd just be a feature that is cool but serves no purpose.
I would definitely use it
I would definitely use it
You'd say that but I'd just see guys running up to their buddy and either
A. Having his buddy respawn
B. Getting mowed down in a hail of gunfire
C. A combination of the two.
And then people realize that it is extremely situational.
i'm sure most of you have heard of ArmA 2 before, they have drag in that but the only time it's ever useful is if someone is wounded next to a burning vehicle and you want to be able to get them away from it before healing them incase any secondary explosions go off
Arma 2 the drag feature is useful for a couple reasons
1) Gunfire isn't pinpoint accurate
2) Suppression works, and therefor suppression is used, it's good to get someone behind cover before applying lengthy first aid
Even in online play, or against AI Cooperatively...
Battlefield: Maps aren't as big as Arma 2, People can't stay hidden as well as in Arma 2, Bullet's go where you have your Dot in BF, Arma has a much more realistic Cone of fire. Drag would just get you killed too, Not only that Reviving someone in BF is instant, so no need to drag anyone

But often I find myself dragging/carrying them behind a tree or cover to heal. Or I drag them back to where a corpsman can heal them.
The 2142 update... it's grorious!

If the mappers involved with the 2142 Karkand are part of DICE, and not a 3rd party group my complete faith is restored in BF3's quality. You can go fully up and inside the buildings around the 1st flag, it's almost like Project Reality. :mmmhmm:
It's pretty obvious that BF3 will have punkbuster, but i'm not falling for their tricks again, not this time. Fuck it.
When I was young I used to think that the 'Challenge Everything' sequence said "Challaker Everything" (Challa-ker-everything)
When I was young I used to think that the 'Challenge Everything' sequence said "Challaker Everything" (Challa-ker-everything)
Well that was nice to know...
When I was young I used to think that the 'Challenge Everything' sequence said "Challaker Everything" (Challa-ker-everything)
I always wondered why it sounded like a 12 year old saying it while inhaling.
Well that was nice to know...
This is the battlefield thread, and that was battlefield related.

When I was young I thoughr golfers said "Whore!" not "Fore" when they fucked up.
How well do you think that went over when I shouted it out while my grandparents, including my grammy, were golfing on their anniversary?
It is battlefield related because I picked up my first copy of 1942 with my dad on the way back from there at walmart so yeah
What's up with the GOL in bc2 anyway? Full automatic silenced 50 cal sniper that kills you in one hit, seems kinda op.
What's up with the GOL in bc2 anyway? Full automatic silenced 50 cal sniper that kills you in one hit, seems kinda op.
What
What
What what? Seems like i always die of that one. Especilly with magnum.
This is the battlefield thread, and that was battlefield related.
Well you're certainly an idiot then, that is an EA trademark nothing to do with battlefield itself.
Well stop playing hardcore
GOL is the easiest rifle to use, but it's not the best
