I don't play hardcore, since there's no minimap. And i don't even have the GOL yet. like 30 hours in and on level 15.
GOL w magnum ammo can't kill you in one hit unless you are like 15 meters away from it
Also it's not fully automatic, silenced or even 50 cal
Then why can't i hear it? And it sure takes 1 hit, because i don't even notice getting hurt, and when i see the shot of the person that killed me, he shoots auto. Maybe it's not the GOL, but it's a sniper allright.
...a lot of sound is going on, just cause you dont hear something doesn't mean it didn't happen sweetie.
And if it's quiet on Heavy Metal?
My friends even agrees to this, we both drop out when it happens.

Either way it's sure as hell not automatic, and it's not a 1 hit kill unless they headshot you, so yeah.
If you pay attention you can hear a crack every time a sniper rifle is fired
Does the GOL in game fire 7.62 or .338?

You honestly can't expect to hear a sniper rifle fire from a few hundred meters away
Even if you do, it's not going to be like a BANGGGGGGGGG
It doesn't "crack" either like the other ones do, i suspect hacks on this :arghfist:
It doesn't happen that often, but it's like the 4th time now.

Christ dude, here are the numbers
Even if you can't hear it, it doesn't mean anything because you can't tell where it's coming from with any other rifle either
At most you know you're being shot at if they miss and hit something else
Oh, mixed them up, it's not the gol. Seems to be VSS. Then they just mash M1 and use norecoil.

Oh.
You think the VSS is OP then?
Lol....
Yeah, it is?
Put red dot on it BAM pre nerf M60
Anyway, anyone's got any Harvest/Heavy metal/open maps servers with people that CAN PLAY? This one's down alot.
only reason why I play Project Reality

Why is PR like 3-4 gigs? Is it really that much stuff added? Never downloaded because of it.
Yeah they added a lot of new models and skins, more and larger maps, more sound assets, and a lot of other stuff.
Huh, it's even bigger than BF2 itself, funny.
I really want to play PR, it seems so fun.
Do i need to install any other crap?

It'll ask you to install Mumble, and you need it, trust me.

Anyone else having minor rubberband/stuttering lag? Like my ping and framerate is pretty high but if I brush against an object or jump I kind of jitter back and forth and change direction for a few seconds, out of my control.
Is there any fix to this? Other people are whining about it on the official Battlefield forums too.

Which game?
Which game?
Every Battlefield game made before 2010?
It's more heavy in Battlefield 2142, but it's still largely noticeable in Battlefield 2 and mods that use it (forgotten hope and project reality)
It gets really annoying, because I could be following my squad, I brush against a tree and suddenly I'm like 50 meters behind them all. Or I could be trying to escape gunfire, brush against the door frame and I end up facing the other direction towards where the gunfire is coming from.

Well you said your ping was pretty high on the above post but I'm going to assume that was a mistake and you mean the opposite.
Also, I've never encountered that problem, nor have I met anyone that has. The best solution for a problem in BF2 is to just reinstall and then see if that did anything but this problem seems more like a network thing and I have no solutions that relate to that.
I keep trying to play Battlefield 2 with v1.5 patch but I get this for every single server, no exceptions whatsoever.
This server only allows players with unmodified content to join. Revert your version of battlefiled 2 to the current official verison to join.
I got the game September '10, so I got it after the final patch which only requires v1.41 previously installed. I tried reinstalling about five times and nothing happens. It's the same thing all the time. I do not have hacks or mods.
Well you're certainly an idiot then, that is an EA trademark nothing to do with battlefield itself.
Except for the fact EA publish the Battlefield games, and that trademark appears in the earlier battlefield games upon boot up, and is no longer used.
When I was young I though golfers said "Whore!" not "Fore" when they fucked up.
How well do you think that went over when I shouted it out while my grandparents, including my grammy, we're golfing on their anniversary?
It is battlefield related because I picked up my first copy of 1942 with my dad on the way back from there at walmart so yeah
No.
That wasnt exactly played or shown on your screen when you booted up the Battlefield series was it.
