I've been watching videos and tutorials all night, hopefully when I get to playing it i'm not a totally incompetent dick who deserves to be shot.
Although I always have been good at taking cover and being reluctant to advance before observing.
I hope if I end up having to use earphones as a mic it doesn't sound like crap.
Stick to the more straight-forward roles at first, like rifleman, or engineer. Engineer is good because it's goals are obvious (build stuff for your commander) and your team always requires one.
Installed Battlefield 2, can anybody suggest some nice mods (preferably with download links)? I also am quite surprised by the fact that you can play only 16-player maps with bots in singleplayer. Can it be changed too? :v:
Oh god, as if PR is downloading faster than BF2.

Yeah, IIRC (from years ago) you can change it up to as many bots as your computer can handle (and maps).

Already know that, too afraid that i'd fuck something up at the moment to pick anything but.

Apparently Dice are making a "Battlefield 3: Back to Karkand expansion pack", they're getting worse then CoD.
they're getting worse then CoD.
Except you know, they're not charging $15 for the maps..
Well I only just read it and they didn't say anything about price, so I just though they'd be selling it seeing as you can only get the karkand map by pre-ordering/special edition.
God damn, only 2 days after I bought the BF2 complete collection, the sale for it begins.I'm pretty damn unlucky, lol.

Is there a way to stop Gamespy Comrade trying to install everytime I start BF2? I don't want to install it.

Delete the exe for it somewhere in the steam folder crap.

You can buy it without the special edition IIRC.
Also they are revealing more details about it tommorow, they said so on their facebook.

It comes for free with every pre-order of Battlefield 3. Part of EA's strategy to get people to buy games new, instead of used.
Battlefield 3 pre-ordered for £16.52 :D
So, do we have any facepunch servers? The group doesn't detail any ips. i would like to play with some of you guys.
EDIT:
never mind, for some reason it says my cd-key is invalid. guess i won't be playing with you guys. :smithicide:

Does this work with all the prerequisite things like DirectX?
For some reason DirectX refuses to install if steam does it in that silent mode so I have to kill the process every time I launch the game.
Punkbuster keeps telling me that I'm using a disallowed program or driver :\

Try disabling steam overlay
uhm I set the battlefield 2 settings to 1920x1200 but the game is still 4:3 ?
Hey bros, how do I launch Special Forces? Since it's a full BF2 pack, it must be there, right? I remember seeing that it included SF.

The Special Forces game has a separate launcher, try looking for it on your desktop in the windows tab.
So basically, pre order you get them for free, if not you have to buy it for 1200 MS points or £10 for pc for old maps?

Pretty much.
But classic maps was one of the things pretty much EVERY BF2 fan wanted to see in BF3, I dont see what the problem is. That and they are included with every pre order. Even if we were paying for it, its not like they are going to copy and paste 6 year old maps into a new engine, and you can tell, lot of work will have gone into these.
This isnt like when Activision copy and pasted the map 'Crash' into MW2 and then charged for it. These maps have been rebuilt and re imagined on a brand new engine with new textures, new props, new everything. They may technically be 'old maps' but in reality, they are far from it.

I didn't say there was a problem, I just wondered if that's what they were actually doing.
I believe one of the reasons behind the DLC is so they(EA) can still potentially make some money from the people who purchase pre-owned copies.
