Play4Free is easy as shit, especially as a Sniper, because most people who played it obviously didn't play BF2, so they don't know the maps at all, and since you're getting over 200 points for a kill on average when sniping, scores rise fast.
its free
they took textures and maps from BF2, threw on a crappy filter, added BC2 gameplay, and called it Play4Free
stop complaining about a free game, there are people enjoying it who aren't able to enjoy other things
Obligatory: It's free you can't complain about it ever.
How big is the download? Might give it a shot whilst not being able to play BF2 and waiting for BF3.
Obligatory: It's free you can't complain about it ever.
sure people can complain about it, but going "they just slapped together pieces from good games and made it free and so it sucks!!" is stupid
Actually, BF2 with quasi-dynamic destruction sounds pretty good.
Just that it doesn't have destruction. [editline]29th May 2011[/editline]
How big is the download? Might give it a shot whilst not being able to play BF2 and waiting for BF3.
Small.
stop complaining about a free game, there are people enjoying it who aren't able to enjoy other things
then play Heroes, atleast it's better than Play4Free
then play Heroes, atleast it's better than Play4Free
Control freak much?
Control freak much?
I didn't know giving suggestions = control freak
Do you think they'll have vehicles as spawn points.
Got any 1920 x 1080 HD pics of those sexy in-game screenshots?
Meh, I don't see what is so PC gamer friendly about Battlefield 3. It costs $60, it has Day 1 DLC, it doesn't have modding tools(even Black Ops will get modding tools), it's developers proclaim that the modding scene is dead(COD anyone), it has a day 1 expansion pack and it has the fucking nerve to charge money for Strike of Karkand.

PC gamer friendly
Jets Where does it say that the PC version it's 60 dollars? PC gamer friendly
64 players.
How do jets and 64 players make it anymore superior than what we have now? We've had that stuff since BF2, except the things that made BF2 PC gamerish have been castrated.

We've had that stuff since BF2, except the things that made BF2 PC gamerish have been castrated.
There is nothing about a game that makes it "PC gamer-ish" anyone who thinks that needs to be shot. Any game can cater to PC gaming, it just depends on how the userbase takes it. In the case of Battlefield, we are used to having 64+ player battles on large as fuck landscapes with a lot of teamwork. The bad Company series shrunk this down so that it worked on a console, smaller maps, less team oriented action to promote faster gameplay and smaller player counts to not be overwhelming. BF3 fixes that, and gives us back what we are used to (wide array of vehicles, huge maps). Games like CoD on the other hand do not cater to a battlefield player in any way shape or form if they are looking for a team oriented experience. [editline]29th May 2011[/editline] That is why we like everything we have heard so far. (Well, maybe not the lack of mods tools, but at least they have reason for that unlike Infinity Ward and MW2).
I would love to join a clan that would do 64+ clan battles on regular basis.

Activision enacted a lot of policies for MW2(No modding, Day 1 DLC, map packs, $60 price) that got flamed hell and back from the PC community, yet when DICE has slowly done this, everyone doesn't bat an eye at them for what they've been doing.

They don't charge us for measly little map packs (the BC2 map packs were free for PC users, and free for first hand console owners, you had to buy a key otherwise). They do patch the games to what the community feels is right in terms of weapon balance.
I don't remember any recent Call Of Dutys having Day 1 DLC

Then WaW just copy/pasted. Then MW2 regressed a metric tonne back to Quake 3 gameplay. THEN B.OPS "progressed" back again to the starting point while pretending that they re-invented the wheel. Dice Progressed and expanded the genre with BF2. THEN they veered off and took a few steps back in order to take a dozen steps forward on the consoles. Then they went and improved on that while raising the player cap again and bringing this game to the PC (BC2). NOW they're bringing everything that was already in BF2 back and they're slapping a TON of awesome sit from BC2 on it and THEN they make a final sprint in the shape of Frostbite 2.0. and expanding just about EVERYTHING except the playercount so as to produce a better game and show us just why CoD and most other limited scope games these days are pissing us in the face and why we shouldn't take it. TL;DR: One kid takes one step forward, one back and then one forward again and tells everyone about how he just progressed a ton since last time and invented a lot of shit! "oh no! that wasn't there before, we just had this idea!" The other kid takes a step forward, then takes a step sideways and a half back. Then takes two steps forward, then sidesteps again and finishes off with one step forward and says "hey, look guys. I know it's been a damn long time coming, but it's gonna be worth it, i promise!" I guess you could say people tend to call it "PC-Geared" because it focuses on the platform and actually progresses with actual hardware resources in mind instead of worrying about "Breaking the roof." [editline]29th May 2011[/editline]
I don't remember any recent Call Of Dutys having Day 1 DLC
No. But you hopefully remember that part where the FULL game ended up costing 105$ right? I'd rather have Day 1 DLC at 5$ than the same content at 15$ a month later. Some gamers just have their priorities fucked up. I don't see the sense in shitting all over oneself over Day 1 DLC when it's alot better than loads other general DLC. There's that "locked on the disc" discussion though, that's true.
You all realize that the Pc gets the DLC for free a month or two after release right? and the exclusive weapons are said to be unlockable later via a DICE twitter. Stop bitching about dumb stuff.
and the exclusive weapons are said to be unlockable later via a DICE twitter. Stop bitching about dumb stuff.
Really? I'm not trying to sound like an ass but can I see the twitter post because it'd put my mind to rest that I won't miss out on the type 88 or flechette rounds.
Back To Karkand won't be out when BF3 releases. It will be out a couple months after. You just get it for free when you pre-order it. Think of it as BFBC2:Vietnam, only a throw back to BF2. It's got different maps, different vehicles, different weapons.
I dont really think they will follow the cod policy or releasing Map packs for $15.Free maps were one of the attraction of Bfbc2 for console players, and i am sure they will follow the same path. And yeah i am Ok with Proper Dlc like Vietnam.
there were only like 4 or 5 maps ever added
4 for free, and 4 for monies (of which had new vehicles weapons etc) I'd say that its the best of both worlds
