Is this game going to have Steamworks then?
Steamworks no.

I just realized, in this picture, your thumb is clipping through the side of the gun

Clearly his finger slipped through the hole.
with a CD-key you can just enter into Steam?
There is no proof of that.
amazon is wrong
[editline]1st June 2011[/editline]
oh wait im stupid
Amazon like a lot of sites uses a default date of December 31, 2XXX if they don't know the release date. Where as new egg is more than likely speculation. Although, if i was Dice/EA and the game was complete. That'd be a good time to release it. Before all the other schmucks release their games.
Pre-ordered Battlefield 3 Limited Edition: Physical Warfare Pack for £35 from game :buddy:
Now to wait.
Scratch that, i forgot to update when i got an email but i'm now only getting charged £29.99 for it :buddy: X 2
I pre-ordered mine back on February 4th from EA at $50
Steamworks no.

I hope they realize how much more pre-orders they'd receive if they actually put it on Steam.
I hope they realize how much more pre-orders they'd receive if they actually put it on Steam.
They put BC2 up on steam so I would assume BF3 will get the same treatment.
And if they want to give PC gamers special treatment they better add it on Steam
Friend stole a Jetski and I got on the back of it. The enemy Blackhawk was chasing us the whole way to their base, it was essentially tailgating us. I equipped my RPG and shot at it, watching it spin out into the side of the island.
Guys I think BC2's Online is scripted.
I don't care if it comes on steam, I'm getting it retail. Bad company 2 is the only battlefield game I've ever gotten digital
Personally I'd like to have it as a steamworks title so you buy retail but activate on steam so you have the steam server browser, friends list and steamcloud.
But it was nothing wrong with BC2's non-steamworks retail so I don't really care that much.

The friends system in BC2 was horrid. 20 Friend max? Fuck off, BC2
I wonder if they'll have weapon jams.

I prefer grenade marmalade
They put BC2 up on steam so I would assume BF3 will get the same treatment.
did they add BC2 to steam before its release?
[editline]3rd June 2011[/editline]
I wonder if they'll have weapon jams.
that'll be too luck-based.
did they add BC2 to steam before its release?
As a preorder yeah
I wonder if they'll have weapon jams.
probably not because it would detract form the competitive element a little bit (would be great for single player). >enter comment here about how all the weapons in Blops should have jamming<
Weapon jamming was cool in Far Cry 2, wish they let you clean/repair the weapon instead of just throwing it out.
If it were to be included in BF3 SP I think weapon jamming should happen more with enemy weapons to encourage people to stick with the weapon they're given.
Why not instead of completely random weapon jamming instead have it happen after firing a weapon on fully automatic for a long period of time (which, if I remember correctly, makes the weapon more prone to jamming). Maybe people would use short, controlled, bursts more often then.
Is there going to be any store-specific pre-order bonus's? I want to simply pre-order the biggest and best version. I hope they have a special one with tons of documentary dvd's and stuff, I love watching those. And maps of each level.
That type of premium stuff I enjoy.
Not hats.

It would be cool if they made a little pop-up book with some kind of battle scene on each page. It'd have maybe 10-20 pages.
I am excited for this game.
Would it be cool if, when you die, you see yourself fall to the ground in first person?

Dunno, DICE tried that on Mirror's Edge and it looked rubbish, most of the time the camera ended up in a floating position.
I liked BF2's 'flat on your back' view when you were shot, seeing the planes and choppers going past as you waited for a medic.

Me too, I've already pre ordered from GAME.co.uk but would rather a digital STEAM version.
i wish you guys would realize the game comes out in November
