Seems a good bit more like Bad Company 3 than Battlefield 3 from what they said and have shown so far...
What do you mean?
I don't want to sound inflammatory, but can anyone explain to me what's so damn exciting about the footage we've been shown thus far? The graphics look fucking orgasmic, I'll give them that, but the actual gameplay looks... well, like any other modern-military FPS. Then again, I don't really like modern-military FPSes in general, so maybe it's just my tastes... but I'm still confused as to what makes this so much more exciting than Call of Duty: Generic Whatever.
What do you mean?
The map radar, the squad limit, the commander(I remember hearing they might not have commander in there), the same looking hud as BC2.
The map radar, the squad limit, the commander(I remember hearing they might not have commander in there), the same looking hud as BC2.
To be honest BF2 had an ugly HUD so I played with it transparent.
The map radar, the squad limit, the commander(I remember hearing they might not have commander in there), the same looking hud as BC2.
Isn't the hud really easy to change? It may just be placeholders at this point. Moreover, the look of the hud doesn't effect the actual game in any way. On a different note, I love how the MP demo was of a small infantry based map and yet it still had vehicles; which is very promising.
I'm confused now, is Battlefield 3 out this year or next year? It's just that Gametrailers.com says: "Battlefield 3 Gets Release Date 6/06/11 1:32PM PDT Battlefield 3 is set for release on October 25, 2012, and the open beta kicks off in September." Typo?

Is the open beta different than the MoH limited edition beta?
Is the open beta different than the MoH limited edition beta?
There hasn't been any information on this thus far, so we'll just have to wait and see.
There hasn't been any information on this thus far, so we'll just have to wait and see.
I'm assuming they get it earlier then us, so I guess August for the MoH guys.
Four player squads what. I mean as long as they allow us to talk between squads it'll be fine, but still. But holy crap parts of the tank battle video looked real.
Four player squads what. I mean as long as they allow us to talk between squads it'll be fine, but still.
When did they say this?
When did they say this?
Take a look at the multiplayer video. I just hope the squad wasn't full...
Take a look at the multiplayer video. I just hope the squad wasn't full...
Didn't notice that, it's a bit worrying; as long as they don't confirm it however there is still hope.
Frostbite 2 footage:
Anybody think that the guy @0:53 looks like Glenn Morshower?
They demoed it on PC. They fucking demoed it. Live. On a computer. If that doesn't say "PC dedicated" I don't know what does.
No one said it wasnt PC dedicated, we're saying whether it seems like what BF3 should be to us.
So, that one part in the trailer showing the dynamic volumetric particle lighting (excuse me if that makes 0 sense) when they were shooting rockets through the smoke at night: is that scripted or will that be real-time? I remember someone saying no way it can happen it real-time because of the computation power required...but I think it might be able to? Any insight?
Holy crap, I am amazed. Refreshing new videos of BF3. Also, they changed the running animation and also the climb over objects where you can see your legs.

Wow, the tank battle, also at 6:47 there's a vehicle popping out at the left. Also, dinosaurs confirmed!

Still to name some changes, there is the return of jets, which will sew into the destruction and other new game dynamics that were absent in BF2, as well as suppressive fire akin to Project Reality, forcing players to be more tactical and not blindly retaliate to anyone who is in an advantageous position to them. People will likely flank more and avoid more direct combat. A squad mate could pepper some road barriers that enemies are hiding behind allowing his teammates to move in and throw grenades over.
This looks absolutely fantastic. Going to have to upgrade my 4870
Not certain since it's just a game (Wait no, it's not just a game IT'S (^(*&ING MIND BLOWING GAME) weapons in multiplayer featured PKP Pechneg, AK-74M, AKS-74U, VSS (Not sure, but the barrel looked like it[ men running in the street, :30 of anoucement]) , and SVD. Could be a Russian Federation Faction, or just PLR still (But clothing and ethnic didn't). Also saw Russian Partisan camo (:32 Frostbite 2 Features). New M16a4, M9, M249, M67 (specific faction grenades?), and SR25 are also featured. I liked the animations for stabbing, and climbing. Finally another game where I see my legs. Dunno what to think so far. The multiplayer teaser- the graphics are great but it wasnt really anything that caught my attention. Just looks like a meshed together "ACTION FPS FOOTAGE EXPLOSIONS SO COOL" I want to see some actual gameplay. And I didn't find the tank video very interesting.
Most will disagree with me, but I watched the entire trailer for this game, and not one thing jumped at me from it saying. (CoD hasn't done this yet)

It looks pretty good. The visuals already sold me on the game, and I like how realistic it looks, even though that Tank he's driving takes way more shells than it would be able to in real life. It just has a good solid look to it.
