Just noticed. Good luck with that.
One thing that annoys me is that games can never get explosions right. In every game I have seen the speed of light is the same as the speed of sound, no matter how far away something is the sound always plays right as something happens. It's no big deal but it would be nice to see it done.

In BC2 explosion sounds dont travel at the speed of light, just sound.

Or how about the fact that explosions don't actually look like that. The explosions in games are modeled after Hollywood ones, which is just gasoline.
I hope squad commands are a little more refined. I can't remember the last time my squad actually noticed me mark an objective in BC2, nor noticed when anyone marked one for me... not to mention hitting the button to mark a target tends to mark the nearby objective on accident when there's a fuckton of idiots around the objective but just out of sight. If anyone WAS paying attention, they might end up running into a wall of guns
I've never noticed that problem in 2142 or 2.
I was expecting a four player co-op campaign and more than four people per squad. It's also annoying how they made body dragging single-player only.
You know, that stream wasn't that bad and at least provided some good tidbits of information.
I'm really liking where they are going with the squad system (the squad leader being more important and all, target priority will an interesting addition).
You're welcome for the link ^^
It's also annoying how they made body dragging single-player only.
That is actually untrue, during the stream one of the interviewers asked if there would be dragging and he told him they weren't divulging that information yet. That to me sounds like it's leaning towards yes.
It sounds like they're trying to implement it but if they can't then they don't have to be accountable for it.

Hi, Billy Mays here with ARMA 2, the best in modern combat simulation!
(It's so easy, even your kids can walk 20 miles and get killed in one shot with no respawns!)
Seriously though, ARMA 2 has excellent sound modelling as far as distance and delay is concerned, it's just sad that it's kinda screwed up as far as the spatial aspect is concerned, and on top of that, the whole thing really isn't that consistent.
It sounds like they're trying to implement it but if they can't then they don't have to be accountable for it.
They only problem I see is if they re-implement it, they would have to redo the console control layout. What they could do though, is just move the scoreboard to the Start Pause screen, and then have the commo rose pop up and then you can maneuver through it with the joysticks. Unfortunately, I doubt anything I just said will happen.

Wow, he mad.
is anyone else actually bitching about being turned away? This is the only person I've seen mention it.
Plus, isn't E3 closed to the public anyways, a ton of the visitors are going to be directly associated with other companies, not just press
I missed the stream because I was graduating high school, can someone list the new info that came out of it? Thanks!

easy recap: youtube videos you've already seen, play them whilst watching a first-time public access TV newscaster try and do an interview with the back of a fat guy's head as he tries to concentrate on the game you like. The cameraman won't actually get a good shot of the screen, just the fat guy.
least that's what I gather from complaints, I didn't catch it either.
Wow, he mad.
Bet it was some troll that was in line in front of him that pretended to be from dice and told him off.
Kind of pissed off how they made the multiplayer look like BC.
So are the tracers colored green when they are friendly and red when they are hostile?

It's still protecting industry secrets.
You can't walk into PepsiCo HQ wearing a Coca Cola shirt and expect to be given the tour...
At 1:10:14 for the BF3 ustream, I thought the guy next to him was duel wielding pistols but then I think that just might be the shock paddles for the combined assault/medic class
Update battlefield links (new videos)
Update battlefield links (new videos)
Gonna have to get a mod on that, since Spetzaz is pbanned (rip)
shoot me a PM with a complete update (no random single PMs with a single youtube link) and I can dump it to the OP sooner or later. I can copy the OP to pastebin so someone can edit the whole thing up to current if need be. Too busy/distracted to form something up myself for it

Not for nothing, but this has nothing to do with industry secrets and the footage is also all over the internet
Quick recap as best as i can recall about the stream
-Squad Commanders will have 'unique abilities' and giving orders was apparently one of them
--From the phrasing of one dev, he seemed to be indicating squad leaders may not be the only ones able to do so (give orders). It was vague but the implication was hinting at everyone will be able to order at some level.
--4 players per squad (which means 8 squads of 4 = 32 players)
-According to community manager 'a brand new community hub' will be centered around the game and even have a web browser based launching point for the game (probably similar to BFp4F) and tie all the battlefield games (which im guessing just bc2, P4F & bf3) together. Doubtful they'll go back and patch anything else. The hub will contain all kinds of stats, friends, achievements, unlocks, progressions, etc. I guess this may be their own battle.net kinda thing.
([opinion] judging from ea's past it'll prob suck [/opinion])
edit: just read/heard that a "pre and post-game platform or meeting space to create platoons, meet with friends, etc and join a game together" will be available
-Machine guns with bi-pods will be deployable on quote "almost any surface in any position" according to one dev. So I imagine this will be a much more refined version of DoD:S deployable mgs.
-"Anti-Cheat protection is a priority" but did not confirm or deny the use of punkbuster.
-Kits will be "much more customizable" than BC2 and tailoring a class will be better and deeper. (Was vague but seemed to imply more options for customizing your soldier than BC2). No word on character customization, and given the history of BF most likely won't happen. Some fragmented wordage was to the effect of "we'll provide a base class, and the player will be able to refine the class to suit themselves better than before" is what I can recall.
-There are 4 confirmed classes. Medic, Engineer, Assualt & Recon.
--Watching the MP Game footage, medics have paddles and deploy healing kits/bags similar to BC2, and you can opt out of being revived
-Grenades are now are a selectable weapon and are not necessarily tied to a hotkey to throw (pretty sure this is for knives too but not 100%).
-A certain multiplayer map (likely 'Heart of Paris') seemed 100% infantry only (can't confirm that 100%) and partially taking place partially in an underground subway / rail station. With very much a flow and choke-point kinda setup not typical for BF. Watching the players it seems as if the map is close quarter battles and looked very similar to a COD type level comparatively to stock BF2 kinda action. Players spawned on players and flashlights were mounted on the guns, which appeared to be dynamic lights and shadow casting and slightly obscuring vision when pointed at player (this could've been the bad camera angle though).
-Falling/Flying debris from damaged structures / items **WILL** damage/kill/destroy players & vehicles and most of the dev team seemed overall more excited about the destruction system than any other specific feature when asked what their favorite part of BF3 was.

Is there any decent multiplayer footage?
