Battlefield 3 v2 - Now with 900% more Battlefields

Really awesome. Back when I played BF2 and got tired of playing multiplayer I would go to single player conquest and vs Bots and just dominate the battlefield. That was so much fun and I can't wait to do it with BF3.
Also, I'll be buying 2 copies so that I can play against Bots with my brother. Playing a match online with my brother in a competitive environment just isn't fun (he's not very good at the game and I have to hold his hand the entire time). With Bots we can just mess around and do crazy shit.

How are bots fun. It's way to easy.
Easy = Boring

How is it any different than shooting zombie NPC's in L4D?
And it will at least make up for the lack of Onslaught mode on the PC. I was looking forward to co-op with that.
I heard you choose what stat you want on your dog tag, like kills, deaths, etc. and when they look the dog tags screen they see all the stats up to date and everything. Right?
Yup, You can only aquire them if you stab someone from behind and theres a new animation just for that. When they look up the dogtag they see the stats of that person at that time, it doesn't update. You'd have to kill that same guy again the same way to get the new updated one. There's also graphic things you can put on it too like if you're really into jets in the game you can unlock the pilot related looking graphic to put on your dogtag. Everything is that dogtag silver color.
So how does knifing work? Knives are selectable, but there's also the quick knife feature. Is the quick knife the only way to use them? Or can you press attack to slash.
I didn't even try knifing... I'd imagine that quick knife is just for killing and selecting the knife is for killing and killing for a dogtag.

Real men will not quick knife.

Robert is a pretty nice guy, good thing he enjoys more games than only MW3.
I just saw Thunder-run.
I literally just had to pause the video every few minutes to try and calm myself down because I can't take this anymore. This game is absolutely beautiful.

Did you guys hear about the new dogtag system?
[editline]10th June 2011[/editline]
Oh yea I also remember trying to jump over something like a fence or wall, and instead of the normal jump or being asked to climb I automatically climbed over legs and everything being shown in front of me.
The leg animations for vaulting reminded me of Mirror's Edge.
Well I used to play easy mode bots in BF2 and parkour all over the buildings.
This was long before I knew what parkour was, but I've always loved movement in games a lot more than combat (Huge ME fan obv).
I tried to go from one end of a map to the other without touching the ground. Didn't do too well usually but with the SF expansion I could use the grapple and zipline to aid in my dicking-aroundness. Man, all of my best game memories are not of the actual gameplay, but the zany stuff I used to do when not "playing" the game :v:
Hold on, there's dinosaurs, AND you can see your legs?
GOTY, no doubt.

Gonna pull out my old saitek joysticks and be a super ace, then put jets all over my tags :c00l:

People give CoD too much shit I think, they're good games for the type of games they are, really. Maybe not the most innovative ones, but they're still fun.

It'd be cool if community managers for different companies hung out and talked about how bad their community is

I think they're okay by themselves but I don't think they warrant the sequels every year. Each game just feels the same as the last. They're simply not worth the money anymore.
I've come to think of CoD as the "Sports game" of shooters. Good but not great, yet overhauled yearly.

The hate isn't really based on they are the same games every year anymore. Like we would all be fine with people playing the game but it's just that every amazing PC game from before has been dumbed down with there sequels due to CoD, it just simply influences every other game being developed which it shouldn't.
Then you have the hate from the old school pc gamers because they abandoned them when they are the ones that made them succeed.
I was at E3 and got the opportunity to play the pre alpha demo of BF3. Oh my god... everything was so smooth with animations, we were put into squads of four on pc's. Our other teammates were bots and the enemys were bots as well, it was kind of hard to tell that our teammates were even bots the way they were moving.
I had the chance to shake hands with one of the developers, Lars Gustavsson, I also asked him if the option to play the role as commander would be coming back, he said yes but it won't be like commander in BF2 we all know and love. We all got dogtags with our names on them. I'll post some pictures later of the EA area this week possibly when I leave Los Angeles.
Some cool things I noticed... when you play support and hand out ammo, instead of selecting it and then having to throw it, you just throw it when you hit 3. When you put a LMG on a bipod you don't have to aim down the sight so it feels like one of the stationary mg's in BF2 except with aiming and being able to mount it anywhere. The lighting was gourgeous when we exited the subway, I cannot get over how smooth the animations are and how you can look down and see your legs, I haven't seen my legs in a game since FEAR. There's a health % meter in the corner, it's just a number though. I didn't notice a kill cam.
Can you enter any building thats destructible?

Be angry at devs for copying CoD, not CoD for making some mechanic popular. Can see the idea behind the old school PC guys, though.

Why is everyone spouting this bullshit about MW3 and BF3 being "totally different games"? The more I look at them the more samey and generic they appear.
There might be a large disparity in general quality between the two, but overall they pretty much try to do the same thing, it's just that one does a much better job at it than the other. It has nothing to do with comparing apples and oranges like all of these people say it does.
64 player matches over huge maps with vehicles and environmental destruction is the exact same as 8v8 arena matches?
Both games are shooters that take place in some weird version of modern day. Similarities end there, for the most part.

Same gameplay genre (shooter), same subgenre of gameplay genre (modern warefare), same emphasis (realism), same focus (multiplayer), same weapon attachment customization...
...the similarities are a little bit close.

MW3 is not focused on realism, it's as realistic as a Michael Bay movie.
I.E. people walking around with Winchesters throwing tomahawks at eachother.

The similarities are purely cosmetic. The mechanics of the gun play and feel of the game are entirely different.
CoD is a fast paced arena death match game, whereas the Battlefield series is usually much larger in scope and with team-oriented objectives with vehicles, which is why you don't run around and get shot in the back all the time in Battlefield.
Nor do you have Battlefield moments in Call of Duty.
I wouldn't say BF is focused on realism, but it's a lot more quasi-realistic than CoD is.

He's still lying. MW3 is going to be MW2 + MW1 + Black Ops etc.

So this is why you forced yourself into buying Homefront.
Battlefield does modern combat on a much larger scale than CoD:MW, which as a result offers a greater amount of content and variety. But while I find there to be a great deal of disparity in overall quality between the two games for this very reason, Battlefield's extra features are still an extension of the core gameplay that it shares with MW. Therefore they're not that different.
