It's not like the exclusive weapons and whatnot will be game-changers. You won't be missing out on any gameplay by not getting them.
While most likely true when I see exclusive stuff I feel bad since that means I'm not getting 100% of what I could be getting.
Where are you guys all preordering from? Origin or retail?
Honestly I don't know when to preorder. I'd like to avoid origin as much as possible, and add this to my steam account, but with origin directly competing with steam, I'm starting to think it might not get released on steam. No news on this, are there?
I'm getting it retail, through Amazon. Preordered back in February, the moment it was available to get.
I think I remember hearing, though, is you have to register your BF3 game through Origin once, that way it can automatically update and stuff if need be, but it's not required to run the game itself. So once you tie it down for maintenance purposes, you're good to go.
However, I don't remember if I heard that from a dev interview, or someone around here, or what. I still think EA won't abandon Steam entirely, but just try and make a hell of a deal to convince people to go to Origin.
Will that work? It didn't work with BC2.
If it doesn't it won't bother me. From what I heard, you don't even need Origin to be running to play your games, only to install them. So I can just make a shortcut or add it as a non-Steam game. Whether I have to use Origin or Steam doesn't make a bit of difference to me at all, I got it for cheaper and that's all I really care about.

This man needs to voice the tutorials in BF3.

That would be a heap of over analysis.
"Press the left mouse button to fire your M4A1 Carbine Assault Rifle. This is an assault class weapon. Notice how the lower side of the screen notifies how much ammunition you currently have in your magazine. The magazine carries 30 bullets, this is accurate to real life."

But with a voice like that, the tutorials would be strangely arousing.
I found I didn't play a lot of BC2 until upgrading my computer, it's not much fun to play at low FPS.
Yeah, I used to play it at ~30 FPS on medium settings. Didn't like it that much.
Got a new computer, 60+ FPS on max, starting loving it. :v:

It's funny because console gamers spend more money buying a console, a super HDTV and extra controllers for the best experience while PC still has the crisper and sharper quality.

Good computer 600$, good necessities (monitor, keyboard speakers etc.) ~250$
On the whole Pc gamers pay more but get more per dollar they spend, not to mention the savings we get on games.
a pc that can run bf3 cost more than a xbox 3-shisty

Was the 4chan analysis really necessary?
http://www.ultimatumgamekeys.com/
They've got some seriously cheap prices, at least 20% cheaper most of the time.
Shit its 31.99, but it says they give you the CD key, but you download through origin. Still worth it?

Uhm, yes it was because it's hilarious.
What's with the "Omg 4chan QQ /wrists"?
Are you 13 or something?

Go to a trusty retailer is just a tip,
I would really like to buy the game directly from dice :(

:sigh:
The whole appeal of consoles in the first place is that they're more affordable than PC's.
how do you guys think a GTX 560M would run this? I'm thinking of getting a gaming laptop
how do you guys think a GTX 560M would run this? I'm thinking of getting a gaming laptop
I'm gonna go ahead and just say do not get a gaming laptop, they are too packed and prone to overheating, and even top of the line ones aren't upgradable, meaning that it will last a lot shorter than a desktop computer. On top of that you pay more money for less processing power, so you should probably just spend it on upgrading your PC.
Oh and you can't replace the keyboard without sending the whole thing in for repair.
Just to make sure it's not just me, rate agree if you have a laptop that can run BC2 at ~45 fps, and disagree if yours can't.
a pc that can run bf3 cost more than a xbox 3-shisty
Right, but that PC would out perform the 360 even if it was running the game on the lowest settings for the most part. And would be capable of running hundreds of other games on max settings. Much better price/ performance.

$31.99 Hnnnnggg.
I'm not sure if should preorder from here right now or wait for Steam to put up a preorder.

Steam will be like 3 times the price... Why bother?

That's the thing, I'd have to buy a ton of stuff to get a desktop because the desktop I own is from 2005,so I would probably need a new monitor and new speakers to go with all the new hardware.
I'm looking at Sager laptops and they look pretty good, if someone could explain a bit more as to why I shouldn't get one that would be helpful.

Mine can run BC2 well enough to play singleplayer smoothly, but multiplayer isn't very tolerable. I mean, I can technically play multiplayer but there's just way too many particles all the time. If there was a way to turn off dust and all that bullshit, everything would be dandy.

That'd ruin the whole game point.
People have turned off the dust effects ingame.
You have no idea how terrible BC2 looks without all that dust covering it up.
I don't see the problem with the dust, it's only ridiculous on Atacama desert where everything is dusty and burns your eyes.

But thats kinda like saying "When you remove lighting from Crysis it looks bad"
Dust is part of the game and it looks nice.

I want the game on Steam. That site only has preorders to Origin.
I'm not preordering from Origin unless it turns out that Back to Karkand is Origin-exclusive.

I want that too, but i'd prefer 50$ over 90$.
Also, loading simulator 2010

Unlike lighting, dust is random and makes people hard to see for some players and easy to see for others.
