EA has said there are more to come. You guys can be blind fanboys if you want, but I'll be a dignified consumer who isn't going to have corners cut from his game because EA wants to make a quick buck.
No, it just comes free with it. You have to buy it otherwise.
No it doesn't it.
EA have recently announced that there will be exclusive pre-order bonuses for the upcoming Battlefield 3 that will only be obtainable from select retailers. Currently they have announced that the "Physical warfare pack" DLC will be available from GAME and Gamestation in the UK. This pre-order bonus is in addition to the already announced "Back to Karkand" map pack, but will supposedly be only available to pre-order customers and not purchasable later -- a point which has angered some fans.

Sent them all an e-mail.
If the beta is only for people who had pre-ordered Medal of Honor. :argh:

It was confirmed by zhinto on Twitter that it will be open. MoH LE purchasers will probably get it a couple weeks earlier in a closed beta or something like that.

Uh, Back to Karkand is purchasable later..

No it isn't purchasable later, it's exclusive to the LIMITED EDITION.

It is a pre-order incentive only.
No, the physical warfare pack will not be purchasable later ofc. The devs have confirmed that Back to Karkand will.

I think you're reading it wrong.
Do you have any proof to state otherwise? A link perhaps?
Oh ok, phew, thanks.
it was announced awhile ago, zeldar is correct

Hopefully not 15$. If it is, oh well, still better than 5 maps from CoD I guess.

Thank you for clearing that up.
retailer specific pre-order bonuses plz go.
seriously no one wants this shit, they're already pushing it with the project 10$ bullshit.
Yeah, exclusive stuff sucks. I want to be able to play with EVERY part of the game I'm paying for, please.
[editline]13th June 2011[/editline]
That said, I WILL be getting the DAO 12 one way or another, I need that just for pure nostalgia from bf2.

Yes I would like AP rounds for my Striker, no I would not like it be exclusive to a retailer I can't order from because I live in a different fucking country.
seriously EA, fire your entire marketing team, and DICE, go independent.
Why can't the preorder bonus just be instant access to some equipment like in BC2?
Or it could be the best preorder bonus: 10% off.

that's what they're doing with the Striker, no idea why they have to make the LMG 88 and the extra bits retailer specific.
I would be perfectly fine with pre-order bonuses that give me day one access to content, just so long as said content is still in the game and unlockable through normal means.
I'm boycotting the DLC like I always have for every game and always will. Before you call me on it, yes, I am preordering like I was always going to and will be getting Karkand for free; I'm drunk, not stupid.
Those shit weapons/extras will probably be thrown into an equivalent "1.50 patch" in the future. Remember Armored Fury, Euro Force and recently Northen Strike? Sucked in to those that bought them.
:madmax:

Still doesn't change the fact that they are nickel and diming people for map packs. What happened to that whole "We're better than cod. We have dedicated servers and don't charge for map packs"?

Aside from the fact you can just pre-order from anywhere (from what I understand) and get it for free, it's not just a map pack, they said it would include maps, weapons, vehicles, etc...; it's the BF3 equivalent of BC2: Vietnam. Not to mention one map from BF3 will probably be the size of all five CoD maps at least.
I'm not saying I really like what they are doing, but there's just no way to compare it to the rip off that is CoD map packs.
On another note, hopefully they will smarten up and drop retailer based exclusive content.
On a less... Hostile note, can someone tell me what the soldier is screaming in the full length Fault Line trailer when the building is collapsing at the end?
All I can understand is "Fucking."
sounds like "Holy Shit fucking Go!"
Hold it, so Back to Karkand will still be on the Steam version?
Hold it, so Back to Karkand will still be on the Steam version?
Only if you pre-order. Otherwise you have to buy it separately.

A Steam version exists ?
