Not yet it doesn't.
I think it's disappointing when a developer (or publisher) cuts off a portion of the game for sale at a later date. Didn't DLC use to be made after the game was released? I'm not concerned with guns, they can exclusify them all they want, but an entire (already completed) Map Pack, that's a bit low. Luckily I'm gonna be patient and just wait out a bit after release to buy it. I'll just rent it and play the SP on Xbox or PS3 and purchase later on for PC and Mulitplayer.
The Back to Karkand DLC is part of EA's Project $10. Look it up for more information but basically it's a way for EA to make some money from pre-owned sales.
if EA want to take down Mw3/cod with this business strategy,it never gonna happen.Cutting game content from game like Bf3 for a retailer who payed you extra cash ,is a Very bad idea.
Aren't all new copies limited editions? At least it was like that with BC2 IIRC.
It was like that with Medal of Honor for sure. They said on Twitter that they don't want the pre-order exclusive items to be game changing, so they will probably be underpowered compared to similar things you earn in-game.
I wonder how effective slugs will be compared to BC2. Slugs plus Mag Ammo equaled massive rape.

Battlefield Bad Company 1 & 2 had free map packs and I believe they will in BF3 too. If I'm correct you had to pay for the map packs in cod.
Is Back to Karkand exclusive to Origin pre-orders?
preorder for 60 dollars and get a free mappack, or buy after the release for 50 dollars and get the free mappack for 10 dollars

But then you only need to make 1 purchase :v:

Hey, is this thread also about the bad company series?
I don't see why not
Hey, is this thread also about the bad company series?
There's a thread for that.
That's the thing, I'd have to buy a ton of stuff to get a desktop because the desktop I own is from 2005,so I would probably need a new monitor and new speakers to go with all the new hardware. I'm looking at Sager laptops and they look pretty good, if someone could explain a bit more as to why I shouldn't get one that would be helpful.
In the long run, getting a desktop would be 100x more beneficial. Not only are laptops prone to getting hot and affecting performance, they can barely be upgraded. A desktop you can pick and choose parts every now and then to replace, and keep it going for years. Rather than buying a whole new gaming laptop. I built my first PC in 07 (? I think), it has a Intel Q6600 quad, 4GB ram and a 9800GTX. Up until now its handled games very nicely at my fairly average resolution of 1440 x 900 and to get BF3 running near high settings at that res, im confident all Ill need to update is the GPU, and maybe another stick of RAM. [editline]13th June 2011[/editline]
This is all that is exclusive. The game is BROKEN and UNBALANCED FOREVER
The only thing that worry's me is that ammo type, I really hope its not as powerful as they say and we see the whole team running around with OP'ed semi auto shotguns.
I really want the flechette rounds :(
I have a question about BF:BC2. Can't find the thread, although I looked it up. I've seen a lot of gameplay videos about Bad Company 2 and it looked fairly awesome. I'm a longtime fan of the Battlefield series. But Bad Company looked so different. So is it worth it? Are the teambased gameelements still present and all?
I thoroughly enjoy BC2, it's still team focussed but on a smaller scale to BF2.
except it will cost 60$ after release too
Not for long. EA has sales all the time now. I got DS2 for $40 a few weeks after release.
Aren't all new copies limited editions? At least it was like that with BC2 IIRC.
I hope they do that. I saw it as a way to discourage buying used copies of a game
I hope they do that. I saw it as a way to discourage buying used copies of a game
And how is that a good thing ? the game is full of paid DLC and it's not even released yet, not to mention the extra $10. And yet they bitch because people rent/sell it ? seriously ? Cut the price, exclusive content, DLC and then we'll talk, it was like that on BC2 and it was perfectly fair.
I thoroughly enjoy BC2, it's still team focussed but on a smaller scale to BF2.
You could lone wolf it pretty easily in BC2 and still do great, I've done it plenty of times. Not much teamwork involved in the game.
You could lone wolf it pretty easily in BC2 and still do great, I've done it plenty of times. Not much teamwork involved in the game.
True but people do still use more teamwork than in most shooters, because you got points for team actions.
I'm confused on what the story is about. Other than Bad Company, haven't all Battlefields been multiplayer only?
I'm confused on what the story is about. Other than Bad Company, haven't all Battlefields been multiplayer only?
Yes, but I guess they feel like they need the single player. I'm not complaining, it looks pretty good.
I'm not either, I love a single player aspect to screw around in. Hope it isn't like BFBC or BC2's, they were awful campaigns.
