^Um yeah, pretty sure not having a couple of exclusive weapons isn't going to ruin the game for me.
Everyone knows exclusive weapons are just a gateway DLC for map packs and paid services.
I'm interested how the game will look few months after the release...
Everyone knows exclusive weapons are just a gateway DLC for map packs and paid services.
Tbh I would pay if we got expansions like BC2 Vietnam or better.
If that lmg is as powerful as the others, fine. If it's OP then it's bullshit.
If that lmg is as powerful as the others, fine. If it's OP then it's bullshit.
This.
I'm more worried about flechette rounds being OP as fuck.
I'm gonna go ahead and just say do not get a gaming laptop, they are too packed and prone to overheating, and even top of the line ones aren't upgradable, meaning that it will last a lot shorter than a desktop computer. On top of that you pay more money for less processing power, so you should probably just spend it on upgrading your PC. Oh and you can't replace the keyboard without sending the whole thing in for repair. Just to make sure it's not just me, rate agree if you have a laptop that can run BC2 at ~45 fps, and disagree if yours can't.
This. I figured out the hard way. Overall it's not worth it, and you can get the same spec'ed custom desktop, plus a netbook or even a low end notebook for the same price.
On a non-bitching-about-dlc note, I really ope this time we get the bf2/2142 style of unlocks for all-class weapons, combined with BC2's system for class-specific stuff. I'd like to choose which guns I get first.
I'm going to be broke this year... WHO AM I KIDDING?! I already am!
Slugs were good, but shit like Magnum Ammo, Explosives MK.2, Advanced Warheads, etc. were stupid.
I really hope BF3 doesn't include any damage increasing perks/damage reducing perks.
If that lmg is as powerful as the others, fine. If it's OP then it's bullshit.
DICE themselves have said they are balancing the everloving shit out of the pre order bonus guns. You'll probably find that LMG is like it's BC2 counterpart, large magazine, slightly lower damage and fire rate than some other. Balanced. The flechette rounds will probably be a meeting point of Buck and Slug rounds, lower damage than slugs, lower accuracy than slugs (by far) and not as much penetration as slugs. But more projectiles than slug rounds. fairly balanced. Trust DICE on this, they haven't failed us yet and can always rebalance them like they did with some weapons in BC2.
I really hope BF3 doesn't include any damage increasing perks/damage reducing perks.
I think they confirmed that there are no weapon damage/player health modifying perks.

THAT DEMO AT E3 oh god. I waited four hours but those animations man, so good.
I'm gonna repost since I posted in the wrong thread. So I wrote a letter and want a review on it: [release]Dear EA! As a consumer of your products and follower of EA community, I and the rest of Battlefield community would like your EA marketing department to cancel the map "Back to Karkand" DLC plans, since some of the customers might not be able to afford the map "Back to Karkand" DLC and miss out the fun, the most important, key aspect of the game. We believe such action will make the video game review critics give a bad review to the game, thus ruining every Battlefield fan's hype, leading to the loss with Call of Duty franchise both in popularity and financial competition. We understand that every EA employee must be payed for the hard work they put in your products, keeping your company running. Take a look at Valve for example: the employees of Valve listen to their customers and as a result: a very happy community and a very rich company. Such example is Team Fortress 2. The community gets free updates, similar to DLCs, and the game is still like new, profiting the company. Another example would be Counter-Strike 1.6 and Source. Maybe no updates but the community of Counter-Strike uses modding tools to keep the game popular. Now take a look at your 6-year-old product - Battlefield 2. That's obviously the main root of Battlefield 3. The maps, the features, the whole everything going to Frostbite 2 made by DICE. A nice-looking plan to profit? Well of course! We love Battlefield 2 and we love new technology. But there's a parasite that bothers us the most - your DLC plans, especially old Battlefield 2 maps going to Battlefield 3. Karkand, Wake Island, Gulf of Oman, Sharqi Peninsula - all of these are in our heart, in our memories. And now they're coming back to Battlefield 3, and you want us to pre-order the game immediatly or pay 10$ after the game's out. There's the problem: what if someone's out of money or can't access PayPal or similar sites, like me? We're gonna miss the nostalgic fun, and it might change our opinion on this game.[/release]

I bought MoH(which had a p.good single player) and I don't even get to gloat that I have a BF3 invite. :sigh:
Isn't there an open beta?
Lol the biggest flaw in Battlefield, the Bad Company 2 at least (that's my most played BF game) was that there wasn't really strafing at all. You move with W, and with mouse you turn. So you only move forward all the time, switching direction with mouse. Tell me, how annoying is that? I found it very annoying.. Same goes for CoD. In TF2, even though it's old, the movement feels nice and you kinda gotta master it too to an extent.
Isn't there an open beta?
Yeah, but I'd expect at least a few day's excusivity to a beta for pre-ordering their game. I'm pretty sure that was a big selling point.
Isn't there an open beta?
Basically one of the only reason BF3 fans got MoH was for the beta invite. This is a massive kick in the balls.

I think he means while sprinting...
I think he means while sprinting...
You ever tried running sideways like that? I have. I tripped on my own feet and fall over. :saddowns:
I think he means while sprinting...
Go sprint sideways with 50kgs of gear on your person. Then tell me it should be in game.

Are you kidding? BC2 is one of the only games in recent memory that got the feeling of movement right.
