Hey man, I like where this game is going, but I think it would be beneficial to allow the shovel to mine more than one block in succession by holding down the mouse. Timing click -wait- click -wait- is pretty obnoxious as it is. Also shooting bees with a gun seems pretty weird to me, maybe you could allow a melee attack with the shovel so I can smack those bees in the face instead?

While thinking on melee abilities for Walter, I just now got a splendid idea. It will use the shovel, but it won't work like you think. I'll make it so you can hold down the mouse as well, that also annoyed me.
So what is the goal for you with this game story wise? Will it have a campaign to complete as well as a sandbox style mode?
If you're going with insects and plants as enemies, I suggest anthropomorphic wasps and bees and stuff like that. Would add some two-legged enemies without adding an entire race of other sapient animals. [editline]16th May 2011[/editline] anthropomorphic dandelions pls
anthropomorphic dandelions pls
Flesh eating flowers, a hazard that grows on the surface!
Also I played this game for hours with my friends on Skype, we kept making jokes about fox anus.

Something simple to guide N.A.D.S. upgrades, base-building, and new missions. In other news, the project file got corrupted AGAIN and I had to replace several images. Good thing I keep five backups and back up all my backups with scheduled backups to a backup external backup harddrive backup backup. So, my work is back up to speed. Thanks to backups.
Glad I'm not the only one with automated backup backups.
UPDATE! This one is particularly silly. You will experience a sore clicking finger and very stupid pathfinding.
David gets unbanned tomorrow, hopefully he has some good news about the game.
Today's update is more quantity than quality, but hey, baby steps. Could've gotten more done if I hadn't gotten sick in the middle of my ban... Anyway, things will be back to normal. Jubilation all around.
it's a game featur-ing an anthromorphic charactor (fox), it doesn't mean it's for furries, idiots...
Oh man, the tutorial is kinda broken. Fixing that. I also want to start adding the NPC "stations" and a means by which the player can earn new blueprints for the N.A.D.S. so that the main game will start to have some progression. I think I'll do Wyatt's (N.A.D.S. Upgrades) and Jenn's (Nurse) stations first. I feel bad adding NPC's to the game. Even though I thought of them (and this whole game actually) before I had even heard of Terraria (let alone played it), I know people are going to accuse me of ripping that off. It's a frustrating coincidence and I can only hope that my urge to keep the game unique doesn't get in the way of my urge to make this game fun. That is, I don't want to make something worse just so it can be different. Dammit.
Put prebuilt structures with NPCs.
Yes, like I said earlier in this thread (I think? I know I said it somewhere...) that's what I was gonna do. Basically, they'd be like the other buildings, just with the NPC's inside, they don't walk around like in Terraria. Still though, people are still bound to call copycat on that, we'll see.

If people are dumb enough to accuse you for copying, they are dumb enough to not play your game. Easy.
UPDATE! I'm hoping the new controls for building make things a little smoother.

someone told me to try this out and type yiff is this wise yes/no?
someone told me to try this out and type yiff is this wise yes/no?
VERY wise... ;) And for you people down-rating this, just try it, I'm being 100% serious right now.
Yesterday I was working on getting music-playing code into the game. Was pretty tricky, took all day to sort through the mess of a DLL that I had to use.
Just wanted to say that I'm gonna stop posting about Foxhole here from now on as I'm setting up a main site for the game. I'll probably edit it into the top post when I'm done.
the concept would make a great children's game, i haven't played it so i wouldn't know if it has blood in it, but the cover art instantly reminded me of [img_thumb]http://www.coverbrowser.com/image/bestselling-games-2006/1630-1.jpg[/img_thumb]
