AoE:2 was fucking brilliant :) I spent hundreds of hours infront of the computer just playing this. I got AoM Collector's Edition with a signed poster and stuff from the developers. My favorite game of all time.

AoE II was the best AoE [editline]30th October 2010[/editline] Ololoo, oyioo

4 way FFA Lan parties with friends were amazing, we always played on islands with regicide mode on where you had to kill each other's kings. We would always have random alliances throughout the game and it would boil down to just a 1v1 with bases all over the map.

So I install AoE 3, incompatible with this version of windows. (Windows 7) Any fixes? If not, why did Microsoft not update THEIR game to be compatible with it.

I loved how the Goths in AOE2 could produce their unique unit (Huskarls) from the Barracks.

man.. I grew up on age of empires. my dad only likes turn based strategy but didn't know the difference between tbses and rtses so i ended up with games like ron and aoe. i own the whole series but nothing beats age of kings imo.

Anyone else notice how AoE kind of went the same way as Rollercoaster Tycoon and Doom? As in the first one was good, the second one expanded upon it then third one just killed the series...

I think Rise of Rome was my favorite point in the series, but The Conquerors and Age of Mythology were amazing too.

I've got all the Empires and Mythology series still installed on my computer. Possibly the greatest series I have ever played. I haven't played AoE 3 multilayer in a while, is it still available?

I love Age of Empires. It was my very first RTS. AoE I&II were the best though, I love those games to death.

The AI always cheated in Age Of Empires, their villagers could carry 20 meat whilst your own villagers could only carry 10.

I still remember the cheats: pepperonipizza coinage woodstock quarry HOW DO YOU TURN THIS ON and for AoM: trojan horse for sale ATM of erebus junk food night

God I love these games. Also, does anybody know if the AoE 2 demo's skirmish map has been remade for the original game? I've never found it, but maybe it's just me who's blind.

age of empire online is awesome. unfortunatly i cant say anything about it

The auto farm replacement in AoE II Conquerors expansion was a long needed idea, it annoys me when I go back to the games before that and I have to constantly rush back to my town and get villagers to replant their farms. I'd love it if I could mod the original game to have all the RTS standards that were slowly added throughout the series. In the first game without the expansion there's not even build queues if I remember rightly haha.

Played 6 player AoE II at a LAN last weekend, pretty awesome. I owned Age of Mythology, but I don't remember any titans, were they in an expansion pack or something?

Also damn, your lucky. I got nobody to play AoEII with anymore.

You can play AoE2 over the internet with Hamachi. E.G. 8 player FP game?
