Also anyone else think you could make a sicknasty game (as in an FPS, fighting, or something first person) with 5 large stages, each themed around a katawa or their life or problems or whatever, and then at the end of each one you get a massive boss fight that's even more themed around the katawa

I'd say to go with whatever route you feel like first, but I'll leave the advice to put a different character or two between Lilly and Hanako, as their routes are pretty similar at first, so you'll want to mix it up.
Shizune's route is probably the weakest and gets a lot of flack (much of deserved) as it was hastily rewritten at the end, but it's a pretty nice "slice of life" story, you might want to play it early on, as it makes her seem like less of a bitch in the other story lines once you've gone through it. (and made her my favourite of the lot, much as that counts for fictional characters :v:)
Oh yeah, and Emi's route has the best face sprites, probably matched only by Shizune's cat face.

To summarise: 4LS recruited a few more people and started work on two simultaneous projects (one was Katawa Shoujo 2 and the other was kept secret). Despite not actually making any money, 4LS [I]does [/I]need to manage skill resources. A few people dropped out of making Katawa Shoujo 2 so they regrouped everyone into the secret project and renamed it KS3.
