its disability is that it murdered misha
Becomes a lot more sinister if you've read the beta route (and goddamn you have Doomish :v:) [sp]Misha commits suicide, stopping in the middle of the road deliberately, gets hit by a bus, dies whilst regretting it in front of Shizune. The difference between the good ending and the bad ending is whether you pull Shizune out of a deep depression which leads to her commiting suicide by dehydration in hospital if you get the bad ending.[/sp]
[sp]That sounds way better than signing to her that I love her and getting NOTHING back.[/sp]
Main issue with her final route is that it was very rushed, and was more of [sp]a friend triangle slice-of-life story. If it featured more Shizune - Hisao face to face conversations, it'd likely have worked out better. Act two is basically just learning to talk to her, act three is the trip to her house, and act 4 is mostly about trying to help Misha. It really needed to be longer, and feature more scenes, the beta Tanabata was much better, for example. It also had more choices than comfort /don't comfort.[/sp] There's also the issue of her deafness, which the game might have wanted to address in more detail - there's a whole lot of things that it didn't bring up about it - she only briefly taps into [sp]her very poor social skills in the classroom in the good ending[/sp] Also, I wonder why they never brought up cochlear implants... She must be in the minority that can't have them, as she states that [sp]she hates disabled people (probably meaning people who let their conditions affect them totally, using it as an excuse to not try), and I can't see her in the anti-CI section of the deaf community, as she seems to have chosen to not go to a specialist deaf school, instead going to Yamaku. I doubt that Jigoro would have stopped her from having them, he wants the best for, he's just a fantastic dick to everyone.[/sp]
SPOILERS!
Wait, there's deaf people who are against cochlear implants? How does that work?
Wait, there's deaf people who are against cochlear implants? How does that work?
Being a hard of hearing person that was raised in deaf education and shit like that. There a lot of subcultures within the deaf community, namely one off the top of my head is referring to the community at Gallaudet University. They basically believe iirc that sign language is superior to all and in order to enroll there as a deaf person you have to know sign language or they will teach it to you. Being the stubborn kid that didn't want to learn sign language eventually to the point now I can speak very well and hide the fact that I wear a hearing aid even got offered a scholarship by there and basically my one requirement was to learn sign language. obviously I ignored them and went somewhere else. Point in all this there are some very stubborn groups out there and that goes for the deaf community as well.
Wait, there's deaf people who are against cochlear implants? How does that work?
Strange as it sounds, some of the most vocal complaints against them were from a minority of people in the deaf community, especially those who were deaf before picking up a language. Sign languages are quite a handful to learn, as they're full languages in their own right, and some people feel that CIs are making fewer people take up sign. (like how Braille usage is slowly falling now due to audiobooks and such) There are also the arguments that say it's the childs right to decide if they want the CI or not, which I would support, but for the fact that CIs are vastly more effective if they're implanted as early as possible, due to the way that the brain forms pathways (critical windows and that) - a CI implanted at 18 will be much less effective than if the same person was to get it at 3. I'll just be dull and post a wiki article. http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cochlear_implant#section_11 A majority of deaf people support them, of course, it's just the radical minority, like crazy left handed people who believe that everything is a right handed way of oppressing them. :v: (that said, right handed scissors are terrible and don't cut when used left handed, as are hand biased chair-desk things, please don't force me to use them)
My sides are in orbit. Sadly, I actually like Mutou's new voice better.

Sadly, I actually like Mutou's new voice better.
Hisao's VA sounded better than the monotonous drone they chose for the official one. I couldn't get behind the voice-actors they've chosen, they just didn't seem to convey any emotion, or fit the characters at all. Kenji's VA especially lacks in any hints of a paranoid delusional loser and instead just sounds like your dime-store loser.
I looked up some of their trailers and I have to agree, it's really disappointing how hollow they all sound.
And like I said, Kenji doesn't sound like a paranoid shut-in, but rather a guy trying to impersonate Mandark while pinching his nostrils shut.
My sides are in orbit. Sadly, I actually like Mutou's new voice better.
I know it was just Hanako, but having Mickey Mouse tell me that he hated me gave me the shivers. Also, lost it at Shizune. I really should've seen it coming.
anything is better than what they have in the real project
There are trailers with voice acting? [editline]2nd April 2013[/editline] Did I miss something huge when I played the game
It's a fan voice over project.

Is there a posh scottish accent...? [editline]2nd April 2013[/editline] Hanackey killed me.

Obligatory "who did you audition as" question.
+ give us a sample
Obligatory "who did you audition as" question.
Obligatory 'Jigoro and Kenji' answer.
+ give us a sample
Excuse me while I grab my spelunking gear and delve into the deepest pits of my hard drive to see if I still have them somewhere. I had one of my hard disks completely shit itself a while back so I might not have it any more.
Holy fuck Misha is Mandark.
Holy shit. I knew it was hitting me in my childhood somehow. But I just can't figure it out.

How's the scene with Hisao calling their house going to go if it sounds identical to the regular dialogue?
Speaking Japanese, interpreted into English, now with an accent? How's the scene with Hisao calling their house going to go if it sounds identical to the regular dialogue?
They'll speak Japanese instead. Just invert literally everything.
