Shizune
Argh, that's the one image that always does it to me. She's absolutely heartbroken in it, and it wasn't really her fault at all. [sp]The only real things she did wrong was not realise how bad a state Misha was in, and that can be partly blamed on her massive communication issues - she's only really got Misha to talk to at first, and Misha's only been with her for a year or so. Who knows how it was before then...[/sp]
Sure she wasn't really able to get much romance time with Hisao, but that's mostly due to the fact that she's stated to be basically working a 40 hour week with the student council, in addition to school work, and trying to [sp]keep Misha happy. Her rooftop picnic scene in the good ending is a really good scene, showing how she is frustrated by her lack of social awareness, and only ever really wanted to make people happy, which is why she took the council and festival so seriously.[/sp]
And if you get the bad ending, it ends up with [sp]Shizune hating and blaming herself for driving all her friends apart unaware of Hisao cheating, whilst Misha and Hisao are blaming themselves, avoiding Shizune out of guilt, and Misha is even more unhappy as she knows that cheating hurt both Hisao and herself, in addition to breaking everyone apart. The whole breakdown is due to lack of communication.[/sp]

It's the cat you get for her at the festival in Act one.

Would explain why so many Japanese guys I see have exactly the same type of hair dye (i.e. partially bleached)

Katawa Seiyu is a pleasant project but I'm not really liking the voice actors too much. Hisao, Nurse and Kenji are bearable but the girls are terrible. It'd be nice if Hisao's speaking voice sounded just a little different to his internal voice. I know it's unfair of my to judge like this (espeically since we don't acutally know what they sound like) but Misha could be a little less sharp, Mutou could sound little more bored. Yuuko does the angry/panicky voice well but her shy voice just isn't shy.
Now that I think about it, I should get some time to myself and bust out my good mic again. See how my voice could fit some of the characters.

Yeah, some of the actors definitely don't fit what I've got in my head, and I'm definitely not a fan of the Misha or Hisao. The intentions behind the project are good though, and they are puting in a lot of effort, so I suppose I can't blame them. The April fools video with Batman Motou was amazing though, I'd love for a full voiceover with him putting on that voice.

As for their Rin, I really don't know what to think. I kind of think it's a good voice for her, but I expected her to sound almost a tiny bit more dozy, and she's speaking a bit faster than I expected. Maybe a tiny bit more deadpan, but let's face it, when it comes to any character in any book, everyone will put different tones on them. Hell, I've got Nominya voiced by Brian Blessed stuck in my head, paints strange images.
Oh, and I want to see how Rin's wall of texts work out :v:

They shoul switch Mutou's and Hisao's voices around and it would slightly fit better. I think Rin was okay, though. Could be slightly more monotone but it works. In fact, Rin is probably the closest one to my headcanon so far.
Let's hope they don't butcher Hanako too badly though

Emi, in the [sp]sports shed[/sp].
in my opinion the whole project is terrible and none of the voices fit but i'm going to follow katawa seiyu just to hear hisao's voice actor say "crawls in my balls"
because how can you say that and not laugh
Whoever does Yuuko, their mic is terrible
It's pretty much a given that Seiyu was going to be panned, people get so connected at an individual level to the characters and waifus it'd be impossible for them to get a voice everyone could agree on.
Even so, most of the voices are terrible anyway, which is a bit of a shame.
Kinda makes me wonder how an animated series would be received.
Kinda makes me want an animated series one day.
The voice acting is just bad all around. Hisao is at an acceptable-okay kind of level, everything else just falls flat. I think their main issue is all of the voice actors are your average sit-in-on-the-computer types and their voices are as such. They'd need a real 40-something man for Mutou, a preppy teenage girl who doesn't browse DeviantArt every day to play Emi, et cetera. It's hard to phrase what I'm trying to say.
I played through this again for some reason (Hanako's path) and now I'm broken just like I was when I first did it forever ago.
Why and why.

I'd love to see an animated series. The little animations crossing to Act 2 were awesome, and as long as a series was made in that style I'd watch it.
I think the problem would be what route would be animated. Theoretically they could divide it into like 6 seasons with one season dedicated for each character.

It might be cool to get an animated series in the same kind of way of the animated series for Persona 4, I think it would work if they got good voice actors.

I dunno if there's enough content for more than one episode to be dedicated to each character. I mean, look at the Clannad anime, even though it takes quite a while to get through a route in the visual novel, they were able to easily cram entire character routes into single episodes.
I think it would be very possible for each route to be a single episode, maybe have the first episode set the stage for all the characters and then each following episode is a unique timeline. Or they could get creative like in the Clannad anime and hook all the routes into the same timeline by changing a few things here and there.

What about Rin's period conversation? That'll be fucking golden too.
I only want to hear certain lines read out, maybe Jigoro's rants if the get someone sufficently dickish.
The only voice I like is Emi's.
The voice acting really highlights how cringe-worthy Hisao's writing is
Well tbh, it works fine because you're not speaking it.
People just don't speak like they do in books, or even in films.
Hisao's voice actor sounds like he's trying to do something halfwhere between a talk-show voice and a casual voice, which just doesn't work for Hisao's character.
