Depends on the route. On average, it's two scenes, though I think Lilly's might have 3. To be honest, the content can be disabled, and the thing still makes sense.
I'd say that you'll spend ~98% of the game in non-h scenes, they are definitely a minority. I don't care for smut / h scenes at all, but didn't think that they were too bad in this.

I wouldn't be concerned with losing story bits. Character development perhaps, I guess one could say intimacy is used to further the relationships to an extent. The scenes themselves, while being undeniably explicit in nature, are pretty tastefully written.
