everyone was cheating like hell in that poll man
round 1 was pretty much the only legit round, by the time it came down to miki v. shizune almost everyone (on both sides) was using tor, proxies, etc to spam votes
I knew that Madden said that he started blocking same-IP votes by the third round, but the damage was already done at that point by round 2
It was still pretty fun to watch, though. Would have been cool to see a secondary character win it, if just for how shocking it would be
the problem with tiered vote contests is that the winners of each tier depends entirely on who they are up against
ritsu doesn't stand a chance against hanako, for example, but if she were paired against say molly then the outcome would be much less one-sided

Probably just to fill in spaces so there were 16 characters. 16 divides nicely by 2, 16 -> 8 -> 4 -> 2 -> 1.
