It is one part of it. It has different forms.
Well in that case they'll only pick the variations that are convenient to the plot.

Now that I know it's fairly obvious to me too, but it did fool me at a first glance. The reflections don't really make sense and some of the models (for example the computers) are too simple.

It's not just that the lighting is unnatural, the texture is quite flat.
