Started with the STAR, went to the OCA and used that for a while. Bought the HVR and liked it, but went to the N-tec, it was okay and finally went back to the STAR, even bought a slotted one and put HS1 on it (haven't really noticed a difference).
Yesterday, I bought an LMG. Not the SHAW, but the other one and I have to say, I'm loving it. Great for blowing up vehicles, nice RoF so I can spray it medium range and still be accurate. It's not really great with being mobile and I have to set up (I can't really jump out of a car and instantly start shooting you without being inaccurate) but its fun to use.
LMGs are REALLY good for taking out vehicles and for defending missions when you can get a good vantage point, but if you move even slightly, you won't be able to hit even someone who could be standing right next to you.

i don't think 3gb is enough to run this game without crashing, is there a way to fuck with the settings so it will stop crashing every hour or so?
Alright soren, I personally haven't crashed with four gb, but some of the dudes I play with have so here you go :
Punch this into an administrator run cmd -
BCDEDIT.EXE /SET INCREASEUSERVA 3072
*Edit: Need to restart your pc for this to take effect.
That is a kind of workaround for the fact that the game can't always assign enough memory, particularly in 32bit systems (This is the first game that actually makes me want to upgrade to 64)
That solved 90% of the crashing they had, hope it works for you too.

You can't.

And I wouldn't call it overpowered, it actually has a massive weakness, it's utter inability to hit anything while moving, which makes CQB with it [I]impossible[/I]. In fact, I would rank it behind the HVR in terms of CQB ability. Personally I keep an NFA9 and Impact Grenades to help me deal with CQB.
Another weakness is the OBIR isn't meant for sustained firing. The first few bursts can be out pretty quick, but the longer you try to use it, the longer the pause in between bursts becomes. It can get as long as 3/4 a second if you try to fire off the whole magazine in one session.
At medium range, depending on weapons, skill, and who shot who first, the fight could go either way. The OBIR dominates long range though, where your biggest competition are HVR's, Obeya's, and any Hunting Sight 2 / 3 weapons.[/QUOTE]
I'm disagreeing with you here. Last night I picked up the OBIR to try it out and got 8-1 as a VIP. Mainly against moving close range targets. Two bursts then a pistol to finish them.

H-Vac (I think) is 1 shot. You have to shoot them in the forehead, but I've gotten the 1-hit kill a lot with it.

No, none of the sniper rifles do 100% damage. If the person is already injured, it can kill in one hit, but not a full health player. And headshots don't exist in APB.

another thing can help is that one gaming optimzer that closes explorer.exe etc, then reopens them with that one button. i forgot the name of it though.

You could get them back in the old APB, so people who did the character recovery thing have them. You could trade them before, but they made it impossible to do now.
They're re-releasing a lot of clothing AFAIK. This means new berets.
