Whales, drops blubber/whale oil. (Basically a class-edit of coal, just like Charcoal)

This is probably the best suggestion i've seen, i applaud you kind sir.
Weight. Wear/carry too much armor and or items = Hindered movement and ice breaking from under you
Wear/carry a little = Full abilites in movement, ice doesn't break
Should have a breaking point where if you carry TOO much then you can't move or its really slow when you move but not as fast as wearing just under the limit.
More farming stuff, more crops, seasons. Flowers spreading similarly to the mushrooms do now. Taming cows, sheep, pigs, and chickens, as well as breeding tamed animals, kind of like the baby animals mod. Plating seeds in untilled grass should spawn tall grass. And shrubs should be able to be moved similarly to flowers.

Also torches on fences, notch please!
I hope notch doesn't go all garry on us and start banning everyone who criticizes him...
what the fuck is aether?
what the fuck is aether?
It's a really big mod being worked on by a few people, it's another dimension similar to the nether, except it's above earth, it has floating islands and stuff.
I don't get why the world is generated as you play. Couldn't it just run for 10 minutes when you start and finish, like Dwarf Fortress? Then you could choose your start location too.
Wants:
- Newer world gen (see above)
- Haunted biomes (for the foolhardy player!)
- Ability to live in the Nether (Nothing natively harvested is ghast-proof, and wood is all you get for tools.)
- More interesting dungeon loot (I don't get excited for buckets.)
- Unique(ish) dungeon loot
- All resources renewable (trade bots would work)
- Sandstorms for desert
- Non-monster environmental damage (cold in blizzards, sand buffeting in deserts)
- More interesting mobs (digging, ambushing, placing blocks, applying status effects [slow, poison, etc.], running from the player [especially for the defenseless animals, not running seems REALLY silly])
- Alchemy (potions n' such)
Backend:
- Creative mode (an official inventory hack for play)
- Better server UI
- Friends list
- Notch hires more people to do his fucking job for him
The best suggestions in this thread i've seen.
-Dungeon specific loot (likes special armor and weapons)
-More ores, like silver.
-Whales that can drop blubber
-More farming stuff
-Natural disasters.
One of my own
-Randomly spawning houses, some can be haunted and there would be a small dungeon under it which is protected by a new cave dwelling monster, maybe one that can crawl on the walls and roof. (i made this one) Probably really stupid to other people, but we all have our own opinions

the whole idea behind the current world generation is that it can theoretically go in any direction infinitely (not practically, though). The reason it generates it as you go is because if you generated the world infinitely and in all directions, you'd never be able to play the game!

Ban us from what? His terrible barely-moderated forums?
- Make more "mythical" items appear in crates, and less boring items (Like wheat/bread/bucket/cocoa beans).
- Make cocoa beans possible to find in nature.
- Make saddles craft-able with leather.
- Make new "dark saddle" which has a rare chance of being found in Dungeon chests.
The dark saddle can be used to ride Spiders. To ride a Spider, approach a non-hostile Spider during daytime. Using the saddle on the Spider will have a 50% chance of making it ride-able, and 50% chance of making it hostile. Ride-able Spiders will not attack anyone unless hit first, and unlike pigs you can control their movement.
- Make Camels for desert biomes.
These would be a much more interesting mount than Horses (because horses are unoriginal, creepy, and evil). Using a saddle on a camel would make it ride-able.
I think Minecraft needs more adventuring, kind of like Terraria.
Sure you could explore, but the best things you could ever find were gold and diamonds.
- More achievements like "When Pigs Fly".
Most of the current ones are insanely boring. I also wish he would not force them all to be on the tree, because even if I don't craft a wooden sword it doesn't mean I won't kill an enemy with a better sword later. Likewise, why the hell do I need leather before I can get "When Pigs Fly" when you can't craft saddles anyway.
In Adventure mode, there should be random generated houses.
Boss Monsters and special items gained from killing said monsters.

I like the idea of a silver ore, but what would it do?
In the real world, silver kills bacteria; so maybe in Minecraft it could work as a mob repellent? Not to mention the whole silver bullet kills werewolves.
I want sentient settlements, but I don't want them to be humans, or humanlike (in behavior).
Pigmen are a good example of a humanoid, but completely alien seeming creature that would add to the game and also keep the mystery of being the only human(?) among beastmen and the risen dead.
Actaully, I want humans in singleplayer.
Maybe we could have Friendly Human towns, who would aid you in comabt, then you have nuetral Pigman towns, who leave you alone unless you attack first. Then, you could have skeleton towns, that are outright hostile at all times. They could all have different building motifs.
Some sort of quests, like you read a book, a text comes up with shit like
"It seems there used to be a temple/city/brothel at *position on a map*"
So you can check it out to find some zombies, ruins and loot.
Quests triggered by reading books basically

skeleton towns
Jesus dick, that reminds me of that incredible strange text I read some time ago.
I really want to see some interesting mobs, like a creature that comes out at night and stalks you from trees and fucking pounces on you or something. Also, we need to be able to use shields, and an Anvil for repairing armor would be nice.
Also fucking zombies rising from the ground. Also mud blocks that slow you down when wet, but eventually dry out, and also mudslides.
Also avalanches.
Interior decoration. Chairs, tables, counters, a sink would be cool, shelves where you can actually put shit on for show off (golden armor or whatever)
I think "ancient" things like ruins, temples, etc. generated by the world would be awesome. They'd be interesting, they could have loot, you could even refurbish/live in them if you so desired. Might save you the trouble of making houses. It would go well with adventuring.
It also doesn't help (in my case) that the texture pack I use makes sandstone have hieroglyphs on the side, so whenever I go desert-digging it's like "Oh, what's this?"
@yuki, I think that soul sand makes an good general-purpose mud, but the only thing is that it's limited to the Nether.
How about the torches give off light while you carry them? Then you don't always have to place a million of them when exploring a cave.
How about the torches give off light while you carry them? Then you don't always have to place a million of them when exploring a cave.
Yeah you could just hold it in your hand for caves with no enemies in it, then only have to place them to light the place up when you're trying to fight.
How about the torches give off light while you carry them? Then you don't always have to place a million of them when exploring a cave.
I hope this is one of the things Notch is planning on stealing from Terraria.
How about the torches give off light while you carry them? Then you don't always have to place a million of them when exploring a cave.
I remember he tried doing this but he said it looked terrible while walking, but of course this was before the smooth lighting, maybe it'll look good now.

Also this is an idea I posted on GetSatisfaction around the time wolves were released. http://getsatisfaction.com/mojang/topics/wild_and_domestic_variants_for_all_animals
I'm liking that list. Must say I'm enormously glad you didn't have any form of firearm on it.
Why do people do this. The more intricate and specific your ideas are, the less likely it is for Notch to add them, since it leaves none of the credit to Notch.
