I hope this is one of the things Notch is planning on stealing from Terraria.
A mod for minecraft did it even before Terreria. And it worked really well as long as you had Betterlight installed. Otherwise it just worked well in general.

Notch has stated in the past (and by past I mean before time was born) that moving light was nauseating.
As in he didn't like to code it.
I want allies, I'm tired of my cities being so empty
The things people want in this thread are too varied. Instead maybe instead of requesting notch to do these into minecraft, we request some modders to do it?
I'm sure this has been said thousands of times, and there was a mod for it (that i never got working), but i want mipmapping.
I like the idea of a silver ore, but what would it do?
In the real world, silver kills bacteria; so maybe in Minecraft it could work as a mob repellent? Not to mention the whole silver bullet kills werewolves.
Silver tools could have magical properties since notch seems to have already decided on what he wants gold tools to do
Why do we make threads like this? We just end up getting depressed because of shit that we'll never get.

I think it's good to know what we want when we complain that we want new things.
I think it's good to know what we want when we complain that we want new things.
There's also the off-chance that some modders gets inspiration from threads like this.
Iron boats
I mean basically you're asking for most of the things Notch is going to implement eventually. It will just take him a lot of time, because he is Notch.
I want allies, I'm tired of my cities being so empty
And merchants. You can buy and sell things to them. When you sell you get Minecraft-money, which can be spent on hats, name changes etc and the minecraft-merchant. of course, no REAL money.
I would fucking love to be able to build a massive airship.

Submarine. This has probably been mentioned before, though.
You know what I miss?Secret updates. Not necessarily friday ones.I just really miss how whenever an update came,Notch didn't say what was in it and there was all this scrambling in the megathread to find everything in the update and how to craft it and stuff.

Everyone was annoyed at the time, but I agree.

Even crazy things like "cake beside dirt beside diamond gem = Computer" were fun..

I miss any update, actually.
Those when Notch actually looked into them, not just cluttered up the content with million of bugs.
Except the biome would have to be a certain size, or else you would have three-quarters of someone's house sitting in the middle of nowhere.
But they are ruins, so 3/4 a house makes sense either way. :v:
Besides, I thought he was gonna make the biomes bigger and less runny anyway?
I always thought it would be good to have the need to eat, drink and sleep. It would make Minecraft feel like more of a survival game. I also agree with having mobs be able to destroy weak blocks.
Spending too much time in a snow biome without any clothes should have an effect. It should drain your health slowly, and regen a bit faster when in a cave or other mild temperated areas.
Having clothes on should make you able to be in a snow biome a lot longer without any side-effects.
Wolfs should howl at night so you would be able to find them easier
I'd like to go to space. Or teleport to the moon would be nice.
How about those lanterns we were promised so long ago
How about those lanterns we were promised so long ago
Lanterns were canceled, if i recall. But they would only be useful if they had a light level of 20 and if they could be placed anywhere

light level of 20
is brighter than daylight

Wasn't daylight like 19?
What about different kinds of stone? such as granite, limestone, etc.
Would have different hardness/blast resistance and different colors to allow for more varied structures.
And maybe areas with limestone would be areas with more caves and caves with more lakes/water in them, areas with marble (carvable statues, columns, etc?) or granite would have smaller and less common caves, and those who do have more lava?
I think he should atleast add a gun.Like a musket or a flintlock pistol.
.They take time to reload
.They both do more damage then a bow
.Farther range
.Complex to craft
.Craft bullets
.Doesn't take away the Medieval atmosphere.
The game would be stupid if there were miniguns and AK47s.
Holy balls,60 disagrees.
I Like this idea, but I had an even better one. Something with the concept of a gun, but with unique properties. Basically, a gun crafted using something zany, and it isn't just generic "shoot bullets"
I think it would keep Minecraft original, as I like more inventive things that aren't IRL.
Also: Agreed with above.

You'd have to craft the bullet into the gun, and Bullets aren't stackable.
